Its a massive inconvenience? How?

I've got 5-7 nights currently planned over the period... and I personally dont see any impact what so ever. The points will post. How specifically is this affecting your life, your stays, anything for that matter...

Cannot book Anniversary nights online?

Hi- I tried to book an free (Chase Cat1-4) anniversary night award this morning, but the "Book It" button is missing. It now says to call the Hyatt Reservation number. Has anyone else seen this?

Yes, the button used to be there. Now it isn't. Maybe it will be there again someday.

Noticed this too early last month when I tried to use my cert. Had to call in to apply it.

Dear Pentech,

We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion booking anniversary nights online. We recently updated all of our Hyatt Gold Passport award bookings online to include options like booking Points + Cash and Regency Club Upgrades when searching for rooms on hyatt.com. Part of that upgrade included consolidating anniversary free nights into the same booking flow so all options were presented to our members at once when determining how they might want to apply Hyatt Gold Passport rewards towards their reservation.

To redeem your anniversary free night, simply login and search for a one night stay on hyatt.com for the category 1-4 location you were looking to book at. If you click on the ‘Show Hyatt Gold Passport’ option and have an eligible anniversary night on your account, you will see the option to book using that award.

Sincerely,

Your Hyatt Gold Passport Team

You will not be able to use points or DSU's during the 4 day closure... if that's not an inconvenience I don't know what is. I know that I am planning a 4 week holiday in the next weeks and dislike missing the option to do that during this time frame.

And I suspect people are also doubtful that all stay activity will correctly post after Dec 28 when everything will be reset on Jan 1st.

The inability to use points last minute will suck, I agree. However, as I mentioned before, do you really think that if things don't post in time, you will have much trouble calling HGP and fixing them, i.e. if you were supposed to re-qualify based on these stays, they wouldn't give you the status again. Obviously, they can change status within the system w/o the system automatically adding up stays so I think that worry should be minimal.

I was talking to a manager at the Hyatt I am currently staying at, I asked about this and was told they are totally changing the system. She said the current system is not user friendly at all and the new one promises to be much more user friendly. She gave me a warning that the next few weeks will be challenging.

I would assume so since the reservation system will be up and running. But you probably have to use the reservation page to select a specific reservation since your account page won't be working.

This is what I currently see for a P+C reservation (trying to get those in before the closure):
Due to the special conditions associated with this reservation, you may view or cancel, but not make changes to this reservation within this website. If you are trying to modify a Gold Passport reservation, please call 1-800-30-HYATT.

And you won't be able to reuse those points for quite a bit if you cancel....

Thanks for getting my hopes up by displaying that option for the Park Hyatt Tokyo. It takes me all the way to the page confirming my reservation before bombing with a cryptic error.

I'm surprised that they don't have an alternate system which will allow their most valued customers (Diamonds) to use their bennies. Any such activity can be replayed back to their new system later and reconciled.
If need be, warn these trying to pull a fast one that it will result in the full rate difference charged to their credit card.

If you are talking about redeeming the Anniversary night it would of course give you that error as it is not a Cat 1-4...
