Hyatt South East Asia Flash Sale 72 hrs.
I just received notification of a flash sale for all Hyatt properties in SEA. It seems to be subject to availability restrictions, but can apparently be up to 40% off of daily rate. I just thought I would pass this on in case anyone is booking over the next few days.
Offer code is: SEAF
By the way, PH Maldives is participating in the flash sale. Random dates I searched showed no availability, but it could be worth a try.

Do the rates go into 2016?
One would assume that these are nonrefundable, right?

I was looking at the GH BKK. The rate is still THB 5600++. It would seem this property in particular or BKK in general really needs a good promotion to get the tourists to come back.

I am not seeing a special offer "SEAF" rate in either BKK or SIN, and it's now September 15 in both places.

Now offering a "Special Escape" rate of 5320 THB. Previously cheapest rate was 6600 THB on the dates I'm looking at. With the Baht down against the dollar, 5320 is pretty reasonable ($147 U.S.). Still not low enough to get me away from Shangri-La though

I should see what they're offering at the City of Dreams in Manila.

Even during the coup, when tourist visits dropped to almost nothing, most of the name hotels in Bangkok were not discounting. They don't seem to understand how a demand curve works.

Sorry to take this off topic. If you look at the flights from HKG on CX, they're empty!!! Just go look on IG.

I think they were not discounting because they know exactly how to price their rooms. It is very hard for hotels to maintain high rates if they substantially discount, so if they do discount theg are going to do so discreetly. They will not slash published rates.
