Moot point currently, as I don't see any award availability for any dates.

But I was really hoping to have another Tokyo option for my credit card anniversary night besides HRT.

They had awards up but it was showing 0 points like the Andaz Singapore so I assume they pulled it. Points and cash was loaded as well.

How does a hotel opening in 2019 help me now?

I was able to book 2 nights in early April using P+Cm via Hyatt app, it seems the desktop site still shows 0 points.

10K+ JPY13770 (JPY17503 after tax) per night is pretty good comparing to other Hyatt at same time (PH JPY140000, Andaz 96000, GH80000, HR 37000). However since the tax is quite high, do you guys think its better to do POINTs only VS "P+C" ?

Depends if you need the stay credit or have points to burn.

Was looking at rates in late May 2018 and this hotel compares favorably on some (JPY 10000+ lower then GHT/Andaz/PHT) but on others within 5000 of Andaz/GHT.

Quick question: right now the site says to take Airport Limo Bus to Imperial Hotel and then take a 5-minute taxi ride. Any idea if that would eventually change?

Most likely it'll included along a Ginza bus route in time.

It took about six months after the opening of Andaz Tokyo for it to get its own stop.

Hyatt Centric Ginza Tokyo to open on Jan 22

Came across this article. it contains a couple of renderings/pictures - looks very appealing

https://japantoday.com/category/feat...open-on-jan-22

Accepting reservations starting Feb 1, 2018, as per the Hyatt Website.

Looks nice!

I know that the Centric brand is technically a step down from Andaz in the Hyatt food chain ("Luxury" > "Upper Upscale"), but if it ends up being anywhere close to Andaz Tokyo in terms of hard product, I'd definitely be willing to give it a try -- especially if they accept suite upgrades.

It's always a tough decision for me in Tokyo since the Park Hyatt has a great soft product but the hard product is in need of a renovation, while the Andaz has a great hard product but doesn't accept suite upgrades... Should the hard product be remotely comparable, I think this Cat 5 will fit in very nicely as a "budget" alternative to the Andaz. I'll definitely miss the views, though, seeing as the Centric is only 12 stories tall...

So they let you apply a TSU before the hotel opened? Is this a change I missed?

Sometimes staff confusion works in your favor.
