Smile Andaz Maui for Us

My wife and I used our four free nights at the Andaz Maui as the first stop on our honeymoon. We really enjoyed it.

I wrote up a post on the best use of the free nights by honeymooners, or couples in general.

I used mine at the Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad. Good times.

MGM Las Vegas is now a Category 4, so there is a thought to use my annual free night there, but I live in Las Vegas...so I was thinking about banking up a bunch of points and going to the Hyatt French Quarter, also a cat 4.

Initial Free 2 Nights: PH Vendome Paris
Annual Renewal 1 Night: PH Saigon

BTW, the Park Hyatt Saigon is a great Cat 4 property currently closed for a few months during renovation. I really enjoyed my stay at that hotel.

Not sure I'd come back via points or even via paid stay, rates were going for $1400 a night when I had my stay.

I was staying with friends who lived locally but I couldn't leave Sydney without checking out the PH!

But you're right. In retrospect, I totally should have used both nights there (especially because they had upgraded us to a huge Opera Deluxe room). I think it may have been the nicest room I've ever stayed at.

I often take an itinerary that requires a super early first flight (like 6a) to DFW, if any later a first segment flight it's a mis-connect in DFW (e.g. to COZ, or west to Colombia or other S. American destinations requiring a MIA connection).

I use my renewal night at the DFW GH (Cat-4) which saves $150-200 for the hotel and allows me an afternoon XXX-DFW flight and I continue on the DFW departure the next day.

PH Vendome. Highly overrated. Don't regret using them there because of the cash value ($2000+ USD), but definitely much nicer Hyatt properties around the world.
