I called twice ahead of time and they didn't tell me until i shown up with my 10 year old about it. The fees they charging me a day don't match up to what i hear you guys say or what i see online. I see 15 but this place is charging me 50 a day (150) total they took out on top of the 410 the stay is. Should i go and talk to the supervisor then?

Authorizing $50 a day for incidentals is pretty typical for US properties, in my experience.

I have a have a debit not credit card and the money have been taken out. The lady at the desk told me that . I know the difference between pending and when it’s taken out my statement shows it I use a mobile app to keep track of everything and the money was taken out and it shows. I was looking up to see if anyone was having that problem this is the first hotel I ever stayed at who charged these incidental charges fees. I didn’t know this post was old I was asking for help but I will talk to a supervisor about getting my money back bye

OP really needs to clarify. It's possible that he used a debit card, in which case, the authorization is not just a hold on CL, but ties up what may be limited cash.

If this indeed an authorization for incidentals, $50 would be right in the middle of the pack. That amount of money won't pay for much more than breakfast and a minibar item in downtown Boston.

Since you used a debit card, then yes, the money is taken out temporarily because that is how debit cards work. This is not uncommon when using a debit card for the incidental fee authorization - no different than paying with a debit card at a gas pump and seeing $100 taken out temporarily due to the initial fund authorization. Some hotels have a placard explaining this process at check in. If you have no other charges during your stay, the authorization is released and the money is returned back you within a few days after your stay. $50 is a pretty common amount for the temporarily authorization.
