Too bad it wont' be open for my May trip. I can't find any chain hotels to stay in in Auckland

Agree that Hilton is a good choice (although not particularly good for Diamond upgrades). Equally well located and very nice is the Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour.

So any more news here?

Every deadline seems to have been passed with these guys...

I can see online they are hiring but still no mention at all on the Hyatt website.

I guess anything is possible but they have been heavily promoting this in NZ for years... and Hyatt is hiring so it would seem unlikely to me at least.
