How does the GP Diamond Challenge work?

I was GP Diamond for about 5 years until 2013, in which I didn't travel much. I got bumped down to Platinum for 2014, and though I haven't traveled this year, I plan on being on the road for all of Q4 - easily enough to qualify for Diamond for 2015.

Is there a way I can pre-emptively be granted Diamond for the remainder of 2014, so long as I earn my way there for 2015? Is that how the challenge works?

No, not that I know of. You need status with a competitor and there is an extensive thread on just this topic about a half page down.

This is the thread - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hyatt...n-11-10-a.html . But you need to have some status at another competitor to get the challenge.

For housekeeping purposes, I'll lock this thread.
