like someone above said, this isn't 1988- we can all see others being treated better than ourselves and creates bad will. i had many stays planned as i bounce around asia that can just as easily be with other programs (mostly spg).
and the 'promotion' they've offered some platinums of 10 stays for diamond is akin to calling them stupid. anyone with zero stays and zero existing loyalty/relationship can do a diamond challenge and get diamond benefits, bonus and suite upgrades from stay 1, along with an extra 1000 points the first 5 stays. yeah... that diamond 'promo' is stellar hyatt. thanks for thinking your platinums are morons.

1. Not targeted
2. About 30 nights booked through October, ~$300 per night
3. 4 nights thus far
(Note: just started Diamond challenge. First time Hyatt member. SPG/Ritz Platinum)
I find it a bit odd to have this targeted, and to not include a new customer with $10K revenue booked. But whatever, their business.
Whether I stay with Hyatt this fall depends largely on what the SPG bonus ends up being. Marriott bonus is pretty weak.

Informal request for information:
1) Were you targeted?
2) Did you have Hyatt stays booked at the time? (If so, how many?)[/U]
3)total stays/nights stayed in 2014
Me:
1) no
2) yes 7/15 (during the promotional period)
3) 29/61
The relief is that I won't have to book additional unneeded stays just to get the maximum bonus.

I've added a poll at the top so people can indicate whether they were targeted and what their status level is.

1 - Not targeted
2 - Have 2 stays booked for 8 nights, but will start booking for Sept/Nov soon.
3 - 21 stays with 42 nights so far
This is the major disappointment I have with GP, the way they do these targeted and credit card promos or give away freebies (like the miles and 25/50 properties).
And also the one that might sway me from spending my money there in the future. Especially when they now start doing it for promotions that were not targeted in the past .

1) Were you targeted?
No but was able to register
2) Did you have Hyatt stays booked at the time? (If so, how many?)
7 stays, 16 nights
3) How many stays/nights so far this year?
23/35 eligible
Not too big a deal. Will easily make diamond so no problems there. Of the 16 nights, only 10 will count (some are concurrent and will be cancelled; others non-eligible). Would like the extra 15k points but not in need.
However, whilst targeted promotions can be a good thing (I actually think the 10 stays to diamond is a reasonable offer for many people) I think every members should have a promotion when they are running. We have never been targeted for any promotion and loyalty has to be 2-way.

1 - Not targeted
2 - Had already booked 6 stays for 23 nights (including 12 in Vegas), guessing the fall promo would be similar to previous and require 20 nights.
3 - 9 stays with 27 nights so far in 2014.
Figures... In the morning I booked a couple of Cash + Point stays for 2015 with Diamond Upgrades and was thrilled with Hyatt.
By the evening I'm full of ill will towards Hyatt. It's one thing to have different promos for different people, some more lucrative than others. It's another thing to have a bunch of people get a standard promo, and the rest are effectively told "you'll probably stay anyhow so we'll offer you absolutely nothing".
Anyhow, will now have to go cancel a bunch of reservations and revisit my autumn hotel strategy.

And then some get promos saying stay one night and get 2000 bonus Hyatt points.
These kind of targeted promos are but a form of cost-cutting exercise. And some customers getting annoyed by not being targeted with a promotion (or by not being targeted by a more lucrative promotion) available to others? Such customers are "collateral damage" that Hyatt is willing to accept in this current market environment where hotels seem less desperate to attract/retain customers than in more economically distressed environments. I am not a fan of such approach, but this is the environment we are given. "Loyalty"? It's value is variable.

Mine was a bit different to those above:
(Targetted, Gold, No bookings, but will be now)
You are now registered to earn 2,000 Hyatt Gold Passport® bonus points after each of your next 3 eligible stays from September 1 through November 30, 2014. That’s a total of up to 6,000 points!

1) Yes
2) 14 Stays/29 Nights so far this year
3) 0 nights remainder of the year currently booked.
Looks like I'll switch some of my upcoming stays to Hyatt.
