And for a fully owned property that's kinda disappointing.

I called the HGP customer service line on this. It took them awhile and I finally got connected with a supervisor. They said it appears to be a system error. They said it will get fixed in the near future and will be a consistent 15K + $300 P&C rate going forward.

Just goes to show you, if you see something, say something.

The P+C rate issue has now been fixed. 15K points + $300 is now consistent when/if you can find a date available.

Yes I know everything in life is subjective someone has to like it or be familiar with it.
However Grand Hyatt New York as limited as the fitness center may be
can at least boast that they have Life Fitness.
Its a very good brand that's come a long way from what it was 20 years ago when it was
equally as bad or worse than Techno Gym

Whoever was responsible could have chosen Nautilus,Cybex and about a dozen top contenders IMHO
But instead they imported Techno Gym
A waste of money.Imagine they got a deal on it or actually think its classy to have something imported.
I'm sure many wont care at all.I paid to use 24 Hour Fitness and the transportation to and from
So much better in quality of equip and variety in every way. And they probably paid a lot less
Minor correction - I was at the GHNY last night and they have only Precor equipment. 777 and I were under the impression they had LF. And there are only 2 Precor strength machines. Everything else are treadmills and stationary equipment.

Actually that is a major correction and oversight on my part
Thank you for the update^
Appreciate the message hotel fanatic.
Life Fitness what was in house for years
While Precor makes some excellent elliptical and bikes they aren't strong contenders at all in fitness equipment
other than the cardio stuff but I would still likely take it over Techno gym
My last stay taken in April taken at The grand Hyatt I didn't get to use the facility as I had knee surgery
and Donald Trump was in house with the FBI,NYC police department and bomb sniffing dogs in tow
A major downgrade with the Precor and in line with what the mediocre Hilton chain is offering
Bad news on the Grand Hyatt change. Its sounds like they got a discount so they bit thinking they were saving money over more premium brands
Having said that their cardio stuff (elliptical) are expensive and seriously worth the investment.
I looked at one elliptical and it was 8k but went with Life Fitness as the Precor was to big for my home gym.
I did buy their bike but it was less than half the price of the Elliptical.I would go life fitness next time

hi, Guys

Have any of you successfully book a free night/reward stay at PHNY for two adults and two toddlers (1&3)? I tried to book online but it didn't allow me to use free night certificate/points to book for two adults and two children but it is okay for two adults and one child. Not sure if it is okay to book as two adults and 1 child but check in as two adults and two children.

Any comments is highly appreciated!

My guess would be b/c they don't have any double beds available. I looked several months into the future and even on a regular booking, there was no double. Looking at the room types, it appears that they only have ADA doubles. Maybe they save these as reserved.

Therefore, you can only use your rewards for a Park King, i.e. 3 people max. Is your 1 year old still in a crib and are you ok with your 3 year old sleeping with you? If so, then you may be able to get away with a King. You can also try calling the hotel directly to see if they have any doubles that they will release to you.

I suggest calling the hotel and asking to speak to someone in "in-house reservations" or someone at the front desk.

I just called the hotel and spoke to "Nick." I was trying to see if I can be booked into a double instead of the king because I'll be traveling with my kids, he then put me on hold. The next thing I knew I was on the other end of a 1-900 sex line!?!? I called back, asked for the front desk and got Nick again, and then was immediately transferred to the goldpassport line. GP line of course suggested I follow-up with the hotel.

Super weird and awkward.

1st rate suite. 3rd rate service

No complaints about the spacious suite. The service seemed to be handled by rookies who were new to the hotel industry. At check in at street level we were handed our keys and told to go to the elevator which will take us to the lobby, make two right turns to the next bank of elevators and use our key to access our floor. There was no greeting in the lobby and no escort to our room. We had to search for light switches, curtain controls And could have used a tutorial for the living room tv. The electric tea kettle, part of my profile, was waiting on the desk. Unfortunately, it didn't work. It took 3 calls and over 1 hour to get a pot of hot water. Disgraceful. The employees could use a seminar on hospitality.
