Fabulous stay
Can't say enough good things about PH Vienna-everything was wonderful! As a globalist, used DSU for a suite upgrade and the park hyatt suite was lovely- separate living and bedroom areas, large bath with sep tub and shower and bidet toilet and small tv, bringing tv totals to 3. The breakfast in the Bank ( the historic bldg was a bank) was wonderful-large buffet as well as a menu for hot items. Sparkling wine and coffee drinks are included, the normal cost is 35 euros. We had dinner and afternoon coffee in the restaurant they call the lounge (not a club lounge) and it was very nice. The afternoon coffee was a special price- one coffee drink and all the pastries you want from buffet-13.5 euros. The indoor pool was in what used to be the vault and it was lovely with gold colored pool floor to look like gold bars. The spa area was small with a sauna and steam shower; had a nice massage.Staff were really excellent. Kim from reception escorted us to our room and fave us a hotel tour; used concierge several tines and dining staff were excellent as well. The only negatives were amenities that smelled of grapefruit and the only English channels on tv were news despite having many middle eastern and even a Cuba channel. The location is very central, you can walk to most attractions. Our stay was using points and cash so the price was very reasonable. Highly recommended!

I had a great 6 night stay using P&C + TSU into a park View Suite (no real view but GORGEOUS suite. Staff was consistently the perfect balance of warm and professional. Loved the body wash fragrance.
we didn't have a bidet but bathroom was large, seperste shower and bath and closet gigantic. (I was sort of surprised that there was no bidet)
i agree with every superlative in prior posts!

Have a trip planned with family to Vienna for a few days next year - me + Mrs + 4 yo + 10 month old baby (by then).
Would we be able to squeeze in to their "twin" room? I reakize it will be tight, but would prefer this hotel.
TIA

I would consider king with rollaway and crib. If you are globalist, you will likely get upgraded. This is one European hotel where I have not had an issue with 2 adults, 2 kids.

Excellent Stay!
Six nights at the PH Vienna using a TSU and P+C. What a great value for this top of the line property in the PH chain. The corner suite was just stunning. Partial view of the courtyard and view of the adjacent street brought in lots of light. Two separate closets, a very large living room, fantastic bathroom. The automated controls in every room took a little getting used to but it was fun to open and close the shades & drapes with the touch of a button and let in the morning light when we awoke.
I've read in previous posts about some minor service failures. The only thing I can say is right when we checked into the room, the A/C didn't work in the living room. I didn't think it was a big deal at all because temperatures in Vienna right now don't really require A/C. The staff was determined to fix it immediately but couldn't, so they offered up a bottle of wine for our 'troubles'. They did fix it the next day while we were out.
This particular room had a 'ventilated bed'. They told me it was the only one in the entire hotel and they were testing it out. Basically, there is a fan and heating/cooling system under the bed that vents air up into the mattress. There are separate controls on each side of the bed. I just set the device for max cool and never touched it again. I slept like a baby all week but not sure it was due to the fancy bed or not. You don't really feel the air flow but you can see it when you get up as the cover sheet inflates a little from the airflow. Interesting concept.
I've only stayed at 3 other PH hotels but this is definitely the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The Bar restaurant for breakfast was really good as well. I know its been said before but this hotel really is one of the top Hyatt properties in their system. Its so good in fact that I had dinner with a friend who lives in Vienna and is a Hyatt Glob. For their vacation, because they travel so much, they prefer to just book the PH Vienna and stay close to home because they said its the best hotel experience they have ever had so why not get pampered even if it is in their home town

Hotel Imperial vs Park Hyatt Vienna vs Hotel Sacher Vienna
For those who care, I happened to stay at the Hotel Imperial earlier this month with my husband and mother. While there, being fans of Park Hyatt (we stayed most recently in May 2017 at the PH Sydney), we checked out the PH and Sacher for purposes of comparison and contrast.
There certainly are enough differences between them to suit anyone's preference, I think:

There is no question that the PH Vienna is a beautifully modern hotel and that fans of the PH's modern aesthetic will be extremely pleased with the hard product.
The PH Vienna soft product is where we noticed some consistent failings even in the short time we were visiting. As the hotel has been open for several years now, those service failings were pretty disappointing--and stood in stark contrast to the impeccable service we enjoyed at the Hotel Imperial, as well as the excellent service at both the PH Sydney in May (barring the outsourced housekeeping failures) and at the amazing PH Istanbul Mackas Palace--where we stayed a few years ago and had a nearly flawless service experience.
Most who enjoy the PH modern aesthetic will not miss the "sense of place" element that sometimes plagues PH. This is where the PH Istanbul truly shines--as it has a very modern aesthetic combined with traditional elements in rooms and suites that help provide a better sense of place than in most PH.
But PH Vienna for some may suffer a bit from this definite lack of sense of place--as the hotel could be almost anywhere and you'd not know the difference. Except for the cakes shop, there was very little that felt truly Viennese in the public spaces and particularly in the rooms/suites.
Here's hoping the management can get the soft product in better shape.

I'll also say that the quality of the shampoo is also very good. No frizzies and not drying for my hair.
Anyone who wants to send me their PH Vienna shampoo is welcome to do so.

Just completed a 3 night stay on P+C with TSU over Thanksgiving. My impressions echo the positive reviews that most have left.
The hotel is right on the Hof, where one of the Christmas Markets in Vienna are situated. This was quite nice as we enjoyed a Gluehwein (mulled wine) on a few occasions.
A few aspects of the property stood out for me. First, the bank building the hotel was renovated from is very nice. It pays homage to the history of the building but is modern at the same time. Second, the breakfast in the bank was very good in terms of food and we were just asked for the room number each morning (no bill ever presented). Third, the spa area/pool was definitely a highlight. I left wishing that we had spent more time in the spa area.
We did not get an upgrade beyond a Park Suite using TSU and having Globalist status. The suite itself was very nice. However, we were spoiled at PH Zurich when we had the Park Executive Suite, which was much larger by comparison.

Recently had a pre-christmas six night stay. No longer hold any meaningful status with Hyatt but the booked Park Suite was upgraded to a Park View Suite which was very generous and much appreciated. Hotel and rooms remain immaculate and I felt a vast improvement on service levels over a stay two years ago. Outside of the bank restaurant I still feel the bars/restaurants in the hotel are a bit too small and near impossible to find seats/tables for a spontaneous drop in - obviously doesn't detract from the overall great impression of the hotel.

Checked in this afternoon to a beautiful Park Suite (TSU). The Bank is a gorgeous space with equally great drinks. A wonderful first impression to Vienna.
But...does anyone have some nice cocktail bars/late night establishments that AREN'T smokers' havens? Holy crap, what a buzzkill to an otherwise beautiful city.

Wow oh wow is this property fantastic. We just got back from a four night stay over New Year's and not only is Vienna a fantastic destination, the Park Hyatt is an incredible property in an incredible location.
We stayed on P+C+TSU and were assigned a beautiful Park View Suite on the second floor. This is the floor with the 16 foot ceilings. The room was luxurious and spacious. Every interaction with any of the staff was flawless. The GM left us a nice note along with some fresh fruit and a holiday panettone from the bakery downstairs. The Bank was a beautiful space to have breakfast in each morning, and the selection was terrific.
After four nights I couldn't find a single thing to nitpick. It may be my new favorite Hyatt!
