Hyatt Discount Gift Cards/Checks - Available Anywhere?
I know I can use Cardpool for 5% off, and 10% off hyatt gc at Milepoint premium membership sold out in less than a month (I missed it). Costco 20% is long gone, sadly.
Any other thoughts on where to get Gift Cards OR Gift Checks? I have a few left from Costco (just found them), but other than that I am fresh out and need to re up. FYI I am not trying to sign up for any CC at this time to play that game, I am looking for a pure discount for a hyatt GC purchase. Thanks! |
I realize that you don't want to sign up for a new credit card; but if you already have an AmEx business card with OPEN you'll get a 5% discount on Hyatt gift-card purchases.

The GCs are still only valid at North American properties, yeah?
|
Yes, I believe they're still North American only.

You can use Discover card points to buy a $50.00 gift card for $45.00.

No discount per say but I noticed them at Walgreens last night, maybe you can work an angle I can't.

Get gift checks, not gift cards - those spend internationally as well as NA.

But I think that the checks expire in a year, whereas the gift cards don't expire at all...

Check the fine print. That's only if you purchase and use it yourself.

Which part of the fine print are you referring to?
Do Hyatt Gift Cards and Check Certificates expire? No. Hyatt Gift Cards and Check Certificates purchased by individual consumers do not expire. Check Certificates received as part of a loyalty, incentive or award, or distributed to an individual other than directly from Hyatt may have an expiration date. See front of check certificate for expiration. |
@hailstorm - the way I read it is the "see front of check" part. The stuff you're likely to find on CP and MP (which I ordered through and came from Hyatt) were likely purchased by individuals. The T&C specifically says they are transferable as well, and since there is no specific mechanism to register ownership of a gift check or register transfer of gift check, I'm going to say "see front of check".

I intend to use these myself anyway, but it does seem a bit risky to give them away as a gift... |
