I think it's a pretty fair deal actually. It's a reasonable amount points given as a courtesy to those who don't use the night within the stated time.
Oh yeah, Cat 4 maxes out at 15k. Wishful thinking.... I always used my Cat 4 for Park Hyatt Seoul which is now 20k (Cat 5).

Cert expired last week. I called today and agent said (i) unable to award points, and (ii) the program where they previous awarded points ended earlier this year. I'm a Discoverist.

That's a bummer... my cert (annual Cat 1-4 for holding the card) expires in January. I was actually looking forward to the 10K points since the nearest Hyatts are either Cat 3 airport hotels or Cat 5 and up.

Bump. Any recent data points where unused nights could be converted to points?

Expiring Free Night Cert - Exchanging for Points? Diamond rep alluded to this

I believe if you’re a Globalist they’ll do it.

10k for a Cat 1-4
20k for Cat 1-7

Extend validity of a 1-4 award?

I have a 1-4 award that expires March 25, 2020. Has anybody had any luck using this for an upcoming stay in late April, I’d for about 30 days?

If you are willing to risk losing it completely, you can let it expire and beg for some points later. I think it's 10-12k for the Cat 1-4.

That’s good news. I just became Globalist two weeks ago.

Still waiting for my Hyatt concierge though.

By losing it they mean letting it expire.
