Now Andaz Tokyo has become my most anticipated hotel, ahead of Park Hyatt New York!

Interesting - isn't Toranomon on the Ginza Line? My office is on that line, so if the rate is more HR-like versus GH/PHT-like (which are above my company's allowed spend and I can only stay at using points) then I might be able to try out the Andaz...

Does anyone know how far it will be from the hotel to the station?

We can only wait.... but don't count on it. The Andaz name somehow seems to demand inflated rates for most locations.

IMHO the location is... bad. And Andaz?

Sorry, not in Tokyo. Good luck!
It's actually quite well-located for business -- between Akasaka, Roppongi, and the Shimbashi/Shiodome areas. Plus it's right near my office, so mattress runs will be a piece of cake

Mattress Runs in Tokyo? At least someone doesn't have problems with the cash flow.

That being said, the Hyatt Regency is considerably cheap on our corp rate, especially give the fact that you rarely see any Hyatts ( even in the US ) anymore below 100$.

How can you know this when the hotel hasn't even opened up for booking yet?

Anyway, the building itself will be the only thing of note in the immediate vicinity. It is fairly close to the subway, but IMHO location is not nearly as good as the Grand Hyatt, and probably not even as good as the Hyatt Regency.
