Pretty much everyone on this thread were told mlife stays are not counted for challenge.
I am not actually sure if spg counts multiple roomd for plat challenges - they certainly do not count award nights even though those are normally qualifying.
Yes, SPG does count multiple rooms toward it's Challenge, despite their reps' insistence to the contrary. I've rewarded that with 60+ nights this year.

I am sorry you think it was a rant. It was really just my brand of humor (which doesn't appear branded by Hyatt yet).

I think it's funny that Hyatt is going to evaluate things on a case by case basis. NO , REALLY FUNNY. They have an express or implied contract.
It's like me saying that I may choose to make my home payment this month, but if i decide not to honor my contract with the bank, I don't really have to make the payment and no consequences should accrue to me....you know, because I'm underwater and all..... Believe me Hyatt would end up better off honoring it as did Starwood (least as far as me).. Ladies and Gents, I think the Platinum Challenge is a contract and the only reason one party might not want to honor it is the low rates at some of the Mlife hotels.

I think you will find, Hyatt NEVER confirmed MLife stays were valid for the challenge in public.

All confirmations were done so in private via email, hence why each case was going to be looked at on an individual basis.

Therefore, any 'contract' is specifically between Hyatt, and the nominated parties via private communication.

The only reason there was any discrepancy is people were being advised one thing via private email or telephone calls, yet on fora such as Twitter, here etc, another thing was being advised.

Pretty clean cut from a legal perspective.

Well, Hyatt has taken the high road,,,,extending my status....my stupidity for starting the challenge on 5/27 instead of 6/1 which was really the first night I stayed at the Park Hyatt.

"Thank you for contacting Hyatt Gold Passport; I appreciate the opportunity to assist you.

I certainly do apologize for the frustrations you have encountered. The stays at the MGM hotels have been fully credited to your account. Because you were enrolled in the trial and completed nights at the MGM hotels before the terms were updated, I have moved your tier status to February of 2014. Any future trials that you may participate in, the MGM hotels may not be eligible for night credit towards the tier status.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any other assistance with your Hyatt Gold Passport account."

Interesting that they say future MGM stays "may" not count.... for me if I was paying $250 a night at Bellagio I'd feel as entitled to stay credit as someone paying $49 a night for some crappy Hyatt Place in the boonies. And I think it was the $23 a night stays at Excalibur that scared them off. Of course you have to be careful what you wish for, as the logical conclusion of my own argument is to add a minimum spend component to the challenge.

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere but I requested the diamond challenge end of May and it expired 31 July I did meet the 12 nts.
the diamond says it expires 2/14 is that correct I was under the impression( maybe falsely) that I would have diamond till 2015.

Can you have stays already booked before you request a diamond status match and they count towards the 12 nights as long as those stays fall in the 60day window?

Update: Challenge closed out this morning but had a little trouble. I noticed that my expiration date was still till the end of this month; I called the Diamond Line and they initially said that because some of my nights were at M-Life properties I did not complete the challenge. I reminded them of the emails, phone calls, and notes I had put onto the file before the decision to restrict M-Life properties from counting toward the Diamond Challenge. I was put on hold and transferred to a supervisor who put me on hold. When he came back he acknowledged that there were emails, phone calls, and notes on my account. He then let me know that the rules apply to everyone going forward but because I had all the proper supporting documentation prior to the rules change they would extend Diamond status until Feb 2015. 30 Minutes later I received an email from Gold Passport informing me that a change has been made to my account. I logged in and saw the updated expiration date.

This news is disappointing to hear. I was thinking of challenging to Diamond status because I have about two straight weeks of upcoming nights at Aria and Bellagio, along with an additional nine days at Hyatt properties in San Francisco in the next two months. I guess I could always switch three of the nights to the Hyatt Place property in LV, but it's kind of a significant downgrade from Aria and Bellagio.

I was looking for another program to replace my recent dissatisfaction with Hilton. Even though I'm Diamond with Hilton it's just not worth staying with that program after the devaluation. Maybe I'll just move my MLife and Hyatt stays over to Cosmopolitan instead to requalify for Marriott Platinum sooner next year.

Which property has easiest access?

I'm currently staying in Lake Las Vegas, and will be passing through Vegas on my way home. I'd like to drop by one of the MLife properties and get a membership card.

Which property would be the easiest for that, considering parking, getting to the MLife desk, etc.?

Thanks for any advice?

If you valet your car it's probably easiest at Luxor or Bellagio.

If you go for Luxor it's right past the hotel lobby. Go to the valet that's right off of Las Vegas under the giant Sphinx. Simply leave the car with the valet, tell them you're only going to the MLife desk, and they should just leave your car out front for ten minutes. Give the valet a few dollars for saving you fifteen-thirty minutes trying to find a space in self parking and having to walk in.

Bellagio is the same thing, simply walk in through the main valet area and make a left toward the casino cage area. Luxor is likely quicker though.

A belated thank you.

BTW, do you have any opinion on staying at the Luxor? That property seems to be a good compromise between room rates and comfort from what I can glean online.
