I am not sure I understand this post. I take it RESE is short for reservation? Why won't this go well? The VDARA is a fine hotel. Your firend can make a Mlife account, and they can sign up for Hyatt GP and register for the bonus points too. If you think it was worth the price you paid for the room, it should be worth it.

The only thing I can really comment about this post is that if you think that because you (as a Globalist or Explorist) will have a poor experience because your name is not the lead on the reservation, I would say that it doesn't really matter. Globalists don't really get any benefits at Mlife properties anyhow.

I hope you enjoy our stay.

THIS post was a follow up on my original post.

ALL resolved. I would up re booking the stay under my name and my info. I wanted to just be on HIS reservation, and get the points and credit for the stay, as I will be paying. Didn't really want to cancel and rebook, lucky the room type opened up. Yes VDARA is a fine hotel.

My only gripe over the past year or so with this MLife/Hyatt partnership, it seems points should post more easily. I'm waiting on 2 different stays to post, from Mid Feb, and they were booked on hyatt.com----mLife Hotels. . It's just a hassle for the Consumer to have to follow up.

I see. I agree it is frustrating when we make decisions to spend money based on the advertised rules of a program and expect them (in this case Hyatt) to follow their published program. I can understand that mistakes can happen such as a clerk not entering the number properly, but it should be easily fixed for the consumer.

I personally had good luck booking at Mlife as the rate was considerably cheaper then Hyatt.com, and then just letting the agent at check in enter my Hyatt GP number. They stay posted without any problems. So obviously I don't have the same frustrating experience as you did. My bigger frustration is that MLIFE properties give very little benefit to Globalist other then stay credit. Which again is fine, as that is what is advertised.

Does anyone know if Hyatt's "No Blackouts" policy applies to MLife hotels? I'm seeing nights where prices are very high (because of a convention), but standard rooms are available everywhere. However, I can only get rooms using Cash + Points; both points awards and Cat 1-4 awards are unavailable.

The T&C have been consolidated to one single location:
https://world.hyatt.com/content/gp/e...erms.html#/IID

What I found interesting is that if your stay exceeds 14 nights at an MGM Resort, none of the nights will qualify for tier credit or points. So be aware if you intend to stay longer...

““For any stay at an M life Rewards destination of fifteen (15) or more nights, no night of such stay will qualify as an M life-Eligible Night, even if such night otherwise meets the requirements described above.““

I find it also interesting that Globs get Gold status, but Noirs only get Explorist.

I was offered complimentary Noir status as a trial.... thread here:

I think they're referring more to a "single stay" that exceeds 14 nights. This is pretty common in LV, as most if not all the strip hotels won't allow you stay stay more than that, without having to check out and check back in, which can overcome that. AFAIK, Wynn, MLIFE, and Caesars Rewards websites won't even give you that option to book a longer stay than 14 nights. CR only allows 10 nights max under 1 reservation, and Wynn and MLIFE sites will give you an error stating that you have to choose a shorter stay.

yes, that is my understanding, too. A consecutive stay of more than 14 nights.

Some hotels define a stay to include all consecutive nights even if you check out and back in. Are MGM hotels different?

Probably no different. I guess you would need to switch hotels, too.

AFAIK, not just MGM, but all the LV strip hotels (with casinos attached) would not consider it as 1 stay. It's due to many reasons, mainly with gamblers, related to comp offers(rooms, free/casino play, gifts, F&B, tournaments) , rebates/airfare reimbursements, etc.

I recently stayed at a non-MGM property in Vegas but purchased tickets and lunch from Bellagio. Would these incidental spends be eligible for Hyatt credit?

Yes. Since you're not staying at a MGM property and can't charge back to a room, bring your receipts to MLIFE Rewards desk. They'll credit it to your MLIFE account and in turn credit to Hyatt.

I have always gotten night credits but not points on free rooms. So in your case it would be 5 nights.

This hasn't worked for me. I've only ever gotten WoH point credit when I actually stayed at Mlife properties.
