Diamond Breakfast Benefit
Dear FlyerTalkers,
We’ve heard rumblings that there’s some confusion about the breakfast benefit for Diamond members when Regency Club/Grand Club access is not available. To provide clarity, we’ve come up with a standard definition so Diamond members know exactly what to expect when staying with us. When Regency Club/Grand Club access is unavailable or when a Hyatt does not have a Regency Club/Grand Club, members receive complimentary daily full breakfast inclusive of one entrée (or standard breakfast buffet), juice and coffee (tax, gratuity and service charges included) for each registered guest in the room, maximum four people. For complete program details including program terms and conditions, visit goldpassport.com. Sincerely, Hyatt Gold Passport Customer Service |
Thanks very much for the clarification although I wouldn't be surprised to see some hotels create a special Diamond "Daily Full Breakfast" with an entree of their selection. But this is certainly a big step in the right direction.
|
I looked at gold passport.com and it only lists a full breakfast. It is not explained as it was above. Will it be changed to reflect the new definition?
|
Thanks very much for the clarification.
|
Thanks again! As I've said several times, I wish every hotel, airline, had the same service that you provide here on the forum. Thanks again!

Thanks for the clarification. Could you also clarify the tips issue? Why some Hyatt waive the tips charge for our diamond and why some Hyatt insist they do not waive the tips charge although I remember that the Hyatt membership brochure said that the tips would be waived for diamond members? Thanks a lot!

Sincerely, Hyatt Gold Passport Customer Service standard buffet, presumably the full buffet is included, including hot items, rather than just the cold continental portion of the buffet. However, if there is a buffet as well as a la carte or even a prix fixe choice of breakfasts, do we choose between the buffet and the menu, or does the hotel decide? If there's no buffet or if we can order from the menu, I assume that is it OUR CHOICE of one entree rather than the hotel being able to tell us which one entree is offered. Right? So far, I've generally been very pleased with my Hyatt breakfast choices and I hope that this policy doesn't reduce the selection available to Diamonds. |

Is it possible to have the complimentary Diamond breakfast inside the room via room service?
|
This is pretty poor if implemented. I don`t consider a breakfast roll, coffee and juice a "full' breakfast. How about a bowl of fruit, some oatmeal, maybe an egg? Consider how this "one entree" plus drinks compares to a buffet, where you can have multiple items if so desired. A huge difference indeed.

You might want to share this with Hyatt Irvine as they change the guest for the tip.

Buffet is cheaper to the property versus prepping an entree... Though this will cause some NYC hotels (48Lex & Andaz Wall St, I'm looking at you) to come in line... |
Thanks for the clarification. Hyatt has the best breakfast benefit in the industry as far as I'm concerned.
Just one question somebody asked me: What is the definition of "standard breakfast buffet"? Some hotels have a breakfast buffet with a continental only option or a hot option. Can we assume that if that applies we get the full buffet? Thanks, David |

You might want to read this thread. There was an official response that those Hyatt that don't waive tip are wrong.
