Are there sidewalks near the hotel or is it a nonwalkable area? It's 1.7 miles to walk according to google maps and the two roads I would be on are River Road and Touchy. I was going to uber or take a cab to the meeting and since I knew I couldn't get an uber or cab back from Des Plaines was going to walk back and then grab the hotel shuttle to O'Hare. I walk a lot and can handle a 1.7 mile with no problem as long as their sidewalks.
Yes there are sidewalks all the way up and down River to Touhy Ave

Thanks! I think I'll uber or taxi to the venue and if Uber doesn't service the area just walk it back.

Arrived O'Hare approx 8 pm after international flight. Phoned hotel and they said the shuttle would be "20 minutes". I remarked that the last time they told me "20 minutes", it ended up taking more than an hour, and based on the long flight I was not in a position to wait an hour tonight. Hotel said to take a taxi and they'd reimburse. I took a taxi (who tried to take us for a long roundabout ride, but that's another story) and the hotel reimbursed in cash.

Overall it was a great stay. Friendly and efficient service, decent breakfast, good location. (We walked to Giordano's for dinner). This hotel is actually the friendliest one we've been to so far this year, and the _only_ hotel so far this year where the points and the charges were posted correctly the first time. I much prefer Hyatt Rosemont over the much-larger O'Hare property.

Stayed here this past weekend and found it sufficient for the price, though perhaps not up to the standards of a Hyatt. Booked the Costco rate and was put into a king (suites were all sold out as there was a large wedding) which was of a decent size. The interior of the hotel and the room, while fine for a cheap-ish stay, were in my opinion a bit Four Points-y and paled in comparison to any other HR/Hyatt/GH I've stayed at. Floor of the shower had some mild dark dirt stains and the soap/shampoo/conditioner set on the shower by housekeeping were wet and the shampoo bottle had been opened...

As others have mentioned, there is no club. Diamonds are given breakfast vouchers at the restaurant for $23, but the front desk was happy to let us use them for lunch or dinner instead, as we were in town for the ORD Runway 5K in the morning and wouldn't be able to eat breakfast. Dinner at the restaurant was pretty mediocre, but service was fast and friendly.

All of the staff we interacted with, however, were absolutely fantastic, from everyone we encountered at the front desk throughout our stay to the restaurant staff (particularly Luanne, who was great).

All in all, an adequate hotel near the airport on a cheap rate, but don't expect anything particularly luxurious.

Being able to use the breakfast credit for F&B in the hotel at other times is a huge perk and potentially makes up for the absence of a lounge. Many of us get free breakfast anyway as soon as we get to the airport, either in an airline lounge or on an early flight (which is often why we pick the airport hotel).

Stay here probably about 12 times a year. Its convenient, clean and a decent rate. The people are friendly and the breakfast is quite good. I also enjoy the bar area for the evening to relax if I dont want to head out for pizza or something close by.

Thanks to WoH this place feels just like a HP. At check in no amenity no recognition of status not even a bottle of water (which HPs give). WoH has successfully diluted all their brands...

I was there in March for a stay before an early morning flight, and with no club and no suite upgrade on my stay, and now with no welcome amenity bonus, there is zero incentive to stay here.

I left before breakfast so did not use my breakfast voucher.

The Hyatt program really would be the only reason I would stay at the property, and now no way I stay here again (unless I really want to go to the casino across the street).

Will be looking forward to staying here as this is a "Hyatt" brand. I believe the stay would qualify as one of the 5 brands needed to get a free night. And based on the reviews, I will probably check in for just 1 night

Were they just ignoring the rules when you requested water?

Property has no club lounge and you left before breakfast...how's that the fault of the hotel or WoH?

For most hotels, isn't the guest program the reason any of stay us at a certain property?

If Hyatt Rosemont and Hyatt Regency O'Hare were the same price, I'd choose the Hyatt Rosemont. Here's why.
  • Prefer breakfast in restaurant over breakast in club
  • If arriving in time for dinner, Giordano's is in walking distance.
  • If arriving too late for dinner and leaving too early for breakfast, casino directly across street is 24/7
  • No suites (that I know of) at Rosemont, but I've never received a suite at HROH either.
  • Rooms at Regency O'Hare are a LONG walk from the lobby

However, if I happened to be in a mood to do some people-watching and observe some seriously weird characters, then the Regency O'Hare is the only logical choice, hands down.

"Hyatt"s are a dying breed, with many converting to Centric. This is a good property to pick up the brand cheaply on a 1-nighter that doesn't matter too much.

I did prefer this one to the HR O'Hare though. Arrived super late and had a leisurely morning, so the proper breakfast was appreciated.

Globalist do get bottled water; the ones in room are complimentary despite the price tag on it.

Breakfast is buffet or entree off menu.

WiFi is free and there is NO premium level. Everyone's speed is limited to:

Rosemont does have suites. I've been there 3x and never gotten one though.

I've had a very different experience @ HR O'Hare. I've stayed there probably 7-8 times. I've had a suite all but two of the times.

The Bi-level suite is fun (there are three different entrances on two different floors). I think that's the only type of suite in the main section of the hotel.

Then in the executive wing I've had the Executive Suite a number of times (not a "real" suite, but there's quite a bit of room and there's a half wall between bedroom and living room).

VIP Suite (executive wing) I had last time I was there - it was massive. Kids had a lot of fun.

I stayed this past weekend.

The shuttle is 24/7 and is separate from the Hyatt Regency. It's about a ten-minute ride from the airport, and the shuttle picks up from the central Bus/Shuttle Center. Pickup location is Door 1, at :15 and :45 after the hour. Return service departs from the hotel at :25-:30 and :55-:00.

The hotel's website says that parking is $18, but there aren't any gates or tickets, so I believe this is an error with the site. The parking is in a covered garage next door. In a pinch, you could park at the casino across the street.

I was able to check in after my red-eye arrival into Chicago, which was nice. As a Discoverist, I was able to have the two 20 oz. Aquafina bottles (tags said $4 each) in the room.

Room noise is a bit of an issue. I had a room facing the airport and occasionally heard some takeoffs and landings, but this is an airport hotel, so I shouldn't be surprised about that. However, I heard noise from both the hallway and I believe my next-door neighbor throughout.

Rates were approximately $100 or 8,000 points (category 2). Furnishings were adequate, but I'm not sure the room as a whole is up to Hyatt standards. What it is good for, however, is a great way to get the Hyatt Brand Explorer award night for your account, or a nice serviceable stay near the airport.
