I am here now. Last night there were 3 men cleaning and inspecting the windows and doors that lead to the old (no longer used) balconies. I suspect the upcoming club lounge closure somehow relates to this.
in brief review, checked in two days ago at 5 pm as a Globalist. No recognition at checkin, and they were not using the WOH checkin line. Assigned a room on 6th floor (club floor), which is quite nice, if a bit dated. No upgrade, other than from standard k in king to club floor, if considered a Globalist upgrade, at all. My profile says quiet room away from elevators, which is usually honored automatically, but we were assigned literally the closest room to the elevator as possible on the lowest club floor. Ehhh, no big deal, I guess...Japanese hotel etiquette is quiet, generally, so we slept fine.
Club offerings at breakfast are substantive, including eggs, bacon, soup, salad, fruit, and excellent pastries. Evening spread is not as good, especially compared to other Asian Hyatt properties. Expect cold snack items (chips, nuts, cheese, crackers, and fruit cocktail). No hot items (though they will offer to bring you a complimentary hot mini app, but it's not much, and you only get one), and no veg crudites or salad. Not even any sweets/desserts, though there are jars of shortbread cookies available at all times which I suppose are staples for the afternoon tea. The room service menu is posted for those who wish to buy some more food. Sapporo draft beer is free till 8/31, according to signage, and some halfway decent wine and spirits were available for free.
Overall, staff has been gracious and attentive. I would gladly stay again, albeit with low expectations for Globalist recognition and club offerings.

If they do the same this time, then you should consider yourself lucky!

That's a very welcome change! In the past there have been posts that they would not allow room service orders delivered to the lounge.

That policy (not allowing breakfast in the restaurant for Explorists trying to use a Club Access Award at a property where there is no club lounge) should not apply if the lounge is temporarily closed and there is a substitute provision (such as Hailstorm mentioned) as long as the application of the Club Access Award has been accepted for the reservation (it is possible for a property to refuse the application of an award, supposedly for capacity control, but once it is accepted, they should grant access to the same substitute provisions as for Globalists and others with lounge access privileges).

In my experience, this is a hotel that does the right thing. If they can't deliver what was promised, then they deliver something equivalent or better.

Now I see there are several club floors. Sigh.

You should get back to them and see if they will still guaranty you a club room. Take a look at the room photos and descriptions on the website and you will see that the club rooms and deluxe rooms have been renovated (eg, with a separate shower) vs. the standard rooms.

My worry is that I am using two club lounge access passes as an Explorist for our two rooms. Usually they won't do breakfast in restaurant if there's no club lounge, so I'm worried that will be the case for us July 5-9. This is an important feature for our family of 5 and the reason we chose this Hyatt.

I checked in last night for a 2 night stay.
I got a room on the 6th floor (club room). I got one with 2 beds as the property is sold out (I had them push the 2 beds together). the other choice was a deluxe room with a king bed on the 22nd floor, which after I saw the room, I picked the 2 beds one.
The breakfast choices in the club lounge seem to be slightly better than when I was here last year.
I used the airport Limo bus from HND and it took about an hr and it was affordable. I already got my reservation for the bus back tomorrow and as others mentioned there is a 7-11 connected to the hotel.

My family is planning a trip to Tokyo in late August and my wife wants to stay at HR on awards. However, when I choose 2 adults and 1 child (age <1), there’s no award booking available and the lowest paid room is king with view. When I try booking with 2 adults no kids, the award room (king bed) is available. When I try the PH, I can book an award with the child, so I guess HR just doesn’t allow 3 in the base room.
Can i I just book the HR as 2 adults and then contact the hotel to add a bassinet? Or am I stuck paying cash for the room with view? Or can I call to book a club room for an additional 5k points? Thanks

Edit: If you're staying at a time when the regular lounge is closed for renovations, it is likely that they will not be able to handle checkin at a temporary lounge.

If you do not see the option of a club room available on pts online, it is supposedly not available, since otherwise you should see a tab for that option; you can try calling anyway though.
