Back to back stays

I'm planning on spending four days at a Hyatt. I have a coupon good for $100 on a two-day stay, but only if the rate is over $120. So I was planning to book two nights at the cheap (<$120) internet rate and two nights at the higher rate, thus enabling me to use the coupon. This comes out being a bit cheaper than four nights at the cheap rate.

Would Hyatt have a problem with this? I'm assuming that they'll probably count it as one stay as far as Faster Free Nights is concerned. (Would be nice if I'm mistaken.) But are there any other issues with this? Should I just book one stay under my girlfriend's name (no GP for me though) to avoid any problems?

should be no problem -- when you check in for the first night explain that you have two rates/reservations. They should be able to combine them and let you stay in the same room for the whole stay -- I have done this several times. Then again you might try checking out and back in on the second reservation and you might get away with it for the Stay Free, but i would doubt.

I often stay with free nights then UA 50% then cheap weekend rates-whatever works for me.
It is always calculated as one stay but I have never had a problem with them getting it all mixed up.
It usually has the same res no so they know to give you the same room.

Call Hyatt reservations and have them 'link' the 2 reservations. That way the hotel will know before hand, and they can make sure to block the room you get for all 4 nights.
