Getting to the hotel from Narita airport other than by (very expensive) taxi

--Limousine bus direct to hotel
--Narita Express train to Shinjuku station, then taxi to hotel (currently 4000yen special train roundtrip)
--Keisei line train (various types of differing cost and speed) to Nippori station, then JR Yamanote line to Shinjuku, then taxi to hotel

Getting to the hotel from Haneda airport

-- Taxi, costing on the order of ¥7,000
-- Keikyu line train to Shinagawa station, then transfer to JR Yamanote line to Shinjuku, then taxi
-- Monorail to Hammamatsucho station, then transfer to JR Yamanote line to Shinjuku, then taxi
-- Limousine bus direct to hotel
-- Taxi from Shinjuku station to hotel will be under Y1000, usually less. No tipping, period.

No longer recommend exiting Shinjuku station at any of the south exits as the taxi rank has been moved to a terrible location that can be hard to find and makes the trip to the hotel more expensive. Take the long walk staying inside the station to the west exit, pass the turnstiles and walk straight ahead to the taxi rank.

Non-obvious services available to hotel guests

--Borrow a bicycle and helmet (free)
--Borrow a mobile phone (no charge for phone other than being responsible for loss or damage, calls at phone company rates + 20%)
--Cover charge waived in the New York Bar
--Hotel shuttle every 30 minutes to/from Shinjuku station area (free). For directions on how to find the pick-up location and schedule, click here.
--Woman's sample facial kit upon request, gender-specific
--Globalist breakfast can be served via room service at no extra charge if desired
--Globalists also get free spa access; there is a non-trivial charge for lower levels, 4950 yen per person as of October 2022

Other notes

--Morning Japanese breakfast generally requires reservation the night before (though they may also be able to accommodate requests on the same morning)

--There is now a printed list in the amenities tray that lists a number of other options that either may be borrowed or are complimentary

--Like virtually everywhere in Japan, there is absolutely no tipping to anyone at any time.
