Airport Transportation
The following thread and its wiki provide all the information one needs to know about taking a taxi from Suvarnabhumi Airport: Catching a Taxi at BKK and general Thailand taxi discussion [SEE WIKI FIRST] The wiki discusses the breakdown of taxi fares from the airport to central Bangkok where Grand Hyatt Erawan is located, and addresses the possibility of being slightly overcharged by a taxi driver.
Alternatively, Grand Hyatt Erawan offers airport transfers in its own fleet of silver Mercedes-Benz S-Class and E-class sedans. The prices of these service are S-Class THB 3,300 (net) per one way transfer (per post 1976) and E-Class THB 2,500 (per post 1975) to or from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Guests using this service will be greeted by a representative at the airport, assisted with their luggage, and escorted to the waiting car.
For an additional charge, the hotel can also arrange "Fast Track" (VIP lane) immigration clearance, as well as the option of being met at one's arrival gate by a buggy and escorted through Fast Track immigration. This service is available for THB 1,600+ 7% vat per person, or THB 2,400+ 7% vat per person to include Golf Cart and porter services.
AOT (and perhaps other companies) also provide transfers from and to the airport. Various vehicle types are available at different price points: Camry (THB 1,200 one way), Mercedes E-Class (THB 2,400 one way).
I always use http://www.limousine.in.th for my car needs in BKK incl airport transfers. 1050 THB from BKK to the city, 900 THB city to BKK (incl tolls).
UBER no longer operates in Thailand. Instead, use GRAB. Similar to UBER, prices will vary. On my trip, I was able to get a GRAB for 364 THB from BKK.
Taxi should run between 400-500 THB. If going from the hotel to BKK, the hotel will quote 500 THB. I had to wait for a few taxi's as the first two didn't want to do unless I paid 750 THB.

Shameful. The price difference is 10 baht, $0.30 cents for my dates trying to apply a suite upgrade. Anyone have the numbers on Grand Suite vs. Grand Executive Suite counts ?
The hotel has limited the use of DSU's by creating an entry level suite type that has very limited availability. For the other suites you will have to contact the hotel directly.... a lot of the times they will offer another category suite for an additional charge. Pretty handy way for them to control inventory and earn a bit extra.
And just to add a bit of another review.... pretty decent experience yesterday (again) checking in. Room checkin instead of the lounge this time. Everything still as good as before, just a bit less of an offering in the lounge in the evening with far less crowds than last week. Breakfast downstairs was really busy though today.
And I just got a reminder that you still need to be aware of what you. I was feeling so comfortable here that I left most of my valuables unattended in the room when leaving. And some money went missing.... :-(. My mistake I know.

There is absolutely nothing preventing any hotel from recategorizing room and suites. It happens all the time. Often, it’s done to close loopholes in the “upgrade chain” at hotels where guests are entitled to one category upgrades.
Four Seasons Hong Kong used to upgrade top room (without purchasing Club access) to Executive Suites, which included club access. It was a steal, but, perhaps too good to be true. When they saw how many people were taking advantage of that, they recategorized to prevent that from happening. They’ll still give great upgrades, it’s just now at their discretion and no longer an “entitlement.” I think this is reasonable, as is the case with GH Erawan.

I’m with the hotel on this one. As it was before, the hotel had little control upgrade inventory, and central reservations could just stick people in suites on cheap rates. It’s perfectly reasonably that the hotel has done this to regain control over whom the upgrade on which dates, at which rates, etc... The hotel will still upgrade, just at its discretion as opposed to a free for all.

I am 1 for 2 on using TSUs at this property. I just checked out on Friday after a week long stay in a suite that I confirmed a year in advance on a very cheap corporate rate (yes the company I work for). I do wish they had more inventory available but booking well in advance seems to have plenty available. I did this through the normal Globalist service desk and they had no problems confirming.
This stay was just like the last one, awesome! The lounge is one of the best Hyatt lounges I have been to in the world. The food offering is generous, the drinks are free, and the staff are very attentive and hard working. We took advantage of the globalist 20% discount in the spa on almost a daily basis given the rates are already phenomenal. The restaurants and room service are very good with rediculously affordable prices for a hotel. One thing I noticed this time was on the benefits sheet it stated breakfast can be had in the lounge or downstairs at the restaurant. Our rate included breakfast but this was a nice benefit that I do not recall from last time and at a cost of 850 bht per person, it is again very generous.
The final parting gift we received was a 100% accurate hotel bill which almost never happens in the US for a stay this long with so many charges for food and spa. All breakfast charges were removed proactively which is something I wish US hotels would take the time to do correctly. This is our go to hotel in BKK and we will return in a suite or not given the generous amenities and discounts given to globalist guests!

I was given a low floor exec suite facing the back, after 1 night the air-con unit leaked creating a pool of water at the entrance.
After complaining of the problem was given a high floor grand exec suite floor suite facing Radjadamri..
My rate the HYVISA was made 8 months ago
Upon checking in the grand club agent read my rate as the exec suite rate at which it was changed to by the WOH in USA 7 months ago
after some back and forth it was changed back to original rate.
The welcome note I was given had NO notation of choice to have breakfast downstairs, only lounge as globalist..
It seemed as the offerings in the PM have improved and more varied.

I am sorry but this is a ridiculous statement that I have to call you on ... currently a Globalist - last year was a Diamond and emailed the Hotel Manager to request a suite for our stay! No dice, they were fully committed ... if there is no availability, they are not going to pull a suite out of their behind to give a Globalist!
So we canceled and moved into the Marriott Marquis and that was the best decision!
