Airport Transportation
The following thread and its wiki provide all the information one needs to know about taking a taxi from Suvarnabhumi Airport: Catching a Taxi at BKK and general Thailand taxi discussion [SEE WIKI FIRST] The wiki discusses the breakdown of taxi fares from the airport to central Bangkok where Grand Hyatt Erawan is located, and addresses the possibility of being slightly overcharged by a taxi driver.
Alternatively, Grand Hyatt Erawan offers airport transfers in its own fleet of silver Mercedes-Benz S-Class and E-class sedans. The prices of these service are S-Class THB 3,300 (net) per one way transfer (per post 1976) and E-Class THB 2,500 (per post 1975) to or from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Guests using this service will be greeted by a representative at the airport, assisted with their luggage, and escorted to the waiting car.
For an additional charge, the hotel can also arrange "Fast Track" (VIP lane) immigration clearance, as well as the option of being met at one's arrival gate by a buggy and escorted through Fast Track immigration. This service is available for THB 1,600+ 7% vat per person, or THB 2,400+ 7% vat per person to include Golf Cart and porter services.
AOT (and perhaps other companies) also provide transfers from and to the airport. Various vehicle types are available at different price points: Camry (THB 1,200 one way), Mercedes E-Class (THB 2,400 one way).
I always use http://www.limousine.in.th for my car needs in BKK incl airport transfers. 1050 THB from BKK to the city, 900 THB city to BKK (incl tolls).
UBER no longer operates in Thailand. Instead, use GRAB. Similar to UBER, prices will vary. On my trip, I was able to get a GRAB for 364 THB from BKK.
Taxi should run between 400-500 THB. If going from the hotel to BKK, the hotel will quote 500 THB. I had to wait for a few taxi's as the first two didn't want to do unless I paid 750 THB.

I'm at GHE now...just a few updates on recent posts.
#1 from mcgahat - breakfast now starts at 0630
#2 from Boarder - the Hyatt now does its own testing. No stop at a hosp/clinic - they brought me straight here. Stop by 5th floor...get swabbed and up to room. Arrived at 2345 (on JAL from NRT) - BKK was pretty empty as I think my date was around the first that people could actually start to enter on the new T&G system (I put my appl in on the 1st and got the approval on 6th (and left USA on 9th) I was in the van by ~0040 (surprised me!), and to the GHE by 0115...and the result was under my door by 0700.
Overall not very busy, but things may start to pickup once people get approved for the new T&G system

I‘ve arrived on Wednesday and had a stop at the Medpark hospital. Didn‘t need to leave the car this time as the test was taken with me still sitting inside the car. Got the negative test result within one hour after the swab test was done (they say 2-4h). The premium test&go package of the GHE is (one of) the fastest in Thailand. If you want to be free as soon as possible, don‘t wait for the hotel to call you, Check your emails, if you got the result from the Medpark already.
Now staying at the HR Bangkok to compare it with the GHE (and because it has a Privé 3for2 offer). The HR is a really good hotel as well and it depends on your preferences, which you should book. Personally I like the GHE more. The PH is newer and more stylish, but offers less value for money than GHE or HR.

Ah ok, I guess it's the express service that they stop on the way to the hotel. I was arriving late at night so it made no difference to me if I got the result in 2 hrs, 4 hrs, or 6 hrs...when I woke in the morning the result was under my door with the room keys.

You are right. My arrival time was around 6am, so I‘ve appreciated the express service.

I was informed that they can't do the rapid test now and don't know when it will resume. Something about the hospital running out of the materials.

arrived in bangkok on 8 feb and booked a Test & Go package at Grand Hyatt Erawan. very seamless process- I suppose I may have just gotten lucky but my test only took 3 hours to come back (I didn't pay for express). test is done at the hotel, with results by BNH Hospital, and the certificate has enough details that it can be used as a pre-departure test (well, for Singapore at least) if needed.

Flying over to BKK tonight and doing my test and go night 1 here. Excited as my first time!
I actually haven't booked anything beyond this one day. So I'll see how I like it and extend or maybe try the Regency out.

I’m looking at a stay in June for a trip with my son through the region. Curious if folks have any comment on the difference between a Grand Suite room and a Grand Executive Suite room. Is there an appreciable difference? Appreciate folks input here.

If there isn’t a considerable price difference then I would just book Grand Executive. It’s slightly bigger with arguably better/different views. Both come with the important extra 1/2 bathroom near the entrance.

An interesting and alarming TripAdvisor review from a guest who lost total $600 from in room safe. Day 2 $200 and Day 3 $400 stolen. To me the guest is telling the truth. I always thought the 4 digital pass code is easy to crack. This development makes ma a little nervous as first thing upon checking into hotel room is to put my passport and $ bills ..etc into in room safe. The only safe but inconvenient way is to put those valuable in hotel safe box via front desk, I guess? Hopefully this is just isolated case and no need to worry much.
By the way I just had a 3N great stay 3 days ago at Erawan, which is my very first Hyatt stay.
Here part of his review:
The Bad:
Money went missing from inside the safe in the Suite. On day 2 of the trip we realised $200 were missing, which even though was a bit confusing we chalked up to perhaps there was a chance we had mis-counted. But on day 3 another $400 went missing from a separate envelope inside the in-room safe. We brought the matter to the attention of the manager on duty whom said it was impossible, which was disheartening to hear, and who said they would investigate. I wasn't happy with her response so brought it to the attention of the General Manager (Mr. Demptos) who was very kind and cooperative. They conducted an internal investigation and found only 2 people has accessed the room, room service and house keeping. Unfortunately I think his hands were tied by overall hotel policies where even if they did find the culprit they would never have admitted it.
We asked them to cross reference if they could the safe open/close times with the people coming and going from our room, which I thought was a reasonable and logical step in conducting an investigation, which he said he could not do unless we went ahead and filed a police report. If the sum or money was larger, and I had more time perhaps this would have been an avenue worth pursuing but we chose not to further ruin our vacation by wasting half a day at the police station filling reports considering we only had 2 days left in the city.
