However, those are only Ocean View rooms except for the few rooms at the end of the building. IMO the partial ocean view in that tower is more more beautiful than the Ocean Front rooms in the Atrium Tower.

We've stayed in those ocean view rooms in the Atrium Tower for years and have had great views of the ocean as well as of the lagoon with the swans and other wildlife.

I was referring to Ocean FRONT rooms in the Atrium Tower not Ocean View.

OOPS- My error. We've stayed in the ocean view rooms in the LAHAINA tower for many years and they have a great ocean view as well as a good view of the lagoon.

Can someone pm me the email address of the current operations manager? I have a reservation the coming president day week and want to secure a Lahaina tower high floor ocean view room with odd number as suggested by this thread. Thanks!

Did you book a Lahaina Tower Ocean View room? The rooms in the newly remodeled Lahaina Tower are now a separate category with a higher price. Do you Have status with Hyatt?

Hi All
Anyone ever dine at Sonz in the Lobby of HR Maui? Is it any good?
I read about what I'll assume are isolated rats running through the restaurants tables
How's the food and experience if anyone has tried it
Thanks!

we used to eat there every year but I feel the quality, for the price, has really gone down hill. Never saw any rats!

We have stayed at the resort twice a year for many years. Other than an occasional group, we seldom see more than a few people in Sonz. Have never tried it as it's rather pricey. It changes its name to Swan Court for breakfast and it's quite good, but also pricey ($29 pp for the buffet I believe) unless it's included in your room rate. It's wonderful to have breakfast there adjacent to the lagoon with the swans and ducks in it.

Appreciate the post
I booked elsewhere it seems the restaurant has a number of CRM issues in social media
When I called the hotel they said they have nothing to do with the restaurant
I’m going to go with other highly recommended options in the area

Super high prices this weekend (valentines day + presidents day long weekend) but I guess someone just cancelled because a standard room just opened up -- I got it on points. Rate was $770 or something. The rate yesterday (before a standard room opened up) was over $1000...

Explorist cert to gain Regency Club access

I booked a Points and Cash Stay; a few weeks before my arrival, one of the VIP Managers (on temporary assignment from Palm Springs) reached out to me to confirm my arrival. She initially upgraded us into an oceanfront room in the Atrium Tower. I asked about a cash upgrade and was quoted $300 per night for a Napili Suite and $210 per night for a Lahaina Suite. I chose the latter after confirming that 980 would be tentatively blocked for us.

Arrival (Friday, around 5 pm) was a bit of a mess, with only one agent staffing check in. I was told that the video camera showing the queue to the back office managers is broken, so the Front Desk can be understaffed at times. After a short wait, we were checked into Suite 880; I guess 980 was needed for someone else. In any case, I didn't find 880 to be much different than 980. The rooms are certainly showing a bit of wear and tear, so it should be no surprise to any that the entire Lahaina Tower will be undergoing a refresh by the end of the year. In fact, much of the Lahaina Parking Lot is now taken up by construction trailers and equipment. I was lucky enough to find parking (arriving just after the luau ends helps), but this is going to be an issue for the foreseeable future here for others. I hope they will be able to upgrade the a/c; it had a hard time keeping our room cool with the 90 degree temps outside.

I used an Explorist cert to gain Regency Club access; the location as the base of the Lahaina Tower was very convenient for us. The staff was friendly as always, especially to the returning guests who frequent the hotel each year. No complaints on the quality or variety of food offerings.

We found the pools at the HRC next door to be much more peaceful and less crowded to the HR; we certainly will frequent those in the future.

We walked from the hotel up to Whalers Village to do some shopping and lunch at the Monkeypod Grill and rode the free trolley back. The stop for the Hyatt is basically by the self-park lot, so it's a bit of a walk into the lobby, but still a nice perk.

Overall, a very solid and relaxing stay.

How does one obtain a Explorist Certificate?

Welcome to FlyerTalk. Casual reference by me for what is officially known as a Club Lounge Access Award; see the following webpage for details on how to earn these - https://world.hyatt.com/content/gp/e...ts.html#charts
