I wasn’t charge for drinks during a three night stay in July but that might have been a one off.

I did get charged when we were there a couple of weeks ago, but I think it's a bit of a hit and miss too. Couple of nights posted, a couple didn't.

Lots of people say that HR LAX doesn’t charge those that only have a couple of drinks from the lounge honor bar. Nice touch!

we will be staying soon at this property (next week) which tower should I request. I guess Lahaina is being renovated. Are old rooms too dated if I get that? my main interest would be oceanfront room. thanks!

They don't charge or they don't pay? It is an honor bar after all...

Atrium Tower, oceanfront is your next best bet.

Don’t know what your status is but the newly remodeled rooms in the Lahaina Tower are higher priced.

Explorist. Will they have remodeled rooms at higher floor?

I've stayed at this hotel many times and they have always charged for drinks in the lounge.

Perhaps the person who answered "yes" is thinking of the HR Waikiki? They waive the charge for globalists.

Further posts indicate the remodel of the Lahaina Tower is complete. If so, an odd numbered room in that tower would be the most desirable - preferably an X69 of higher room number. Floor doesn't matter much.
