This is good news! Finally, they decided to stick with the original plan.

I just don't understand though. They were quick to get Central Embassy completed (and it showed in the work), but it's taking forever to get this hotel up and running.

Slightly off topic. In regards to Central Embassy, it never seems busy. It's like Gaysorn Plaza slow. The movie theatre where they are charging THB 1000++ to get in. If you know someone local, they can get discounts on admission.

Will be back in BKK in two weeks. Will see how the progress is.

From the Conrad presumably.

It's looked like that since the fall.

I compared it to a few pictures I took myself in January.... I think they closed 2-3 floors at the most.

Actually progression is very slow like often in Thailand... I'm afraid we will do not see PH Bangkok opened before the end of 2016...

Shows up (but "hotel not available") when you search hyatt.com for rooms in Bangkok. Indicates opening "mid-2016."

Let's hope they have learned something from all the new openings that didn't open in time before they start accepting reservations.

It's been there for a week or so already. It will be interesting to see when it actually opens.

Mid 2016??? I dare say that deadline won't even be met.

And any idea if this will be a Cat 5 or Cat 6 property?

I would hope 5. I don't think Bangkok room rates warrant a 6. The Pen is often under $300 a night and St. Regis often under $200.

GH BKK staff told me last week that estimates are now mid to late 2016. They didn't sound optimistic.
