We received it on our first (and last) stay.
No. As I mentioned earlier, it was actually a Penthouse suite, with an older design.

Can people see these?

Does this gift come with all of the suites, or just the special ones?

This time was much better though, so definitely an improvement there.
Regency Club staff IS awesome. The Japanese lady was probably our favorite. But there are limits as to what they can do, and most anything room related has to go through the front desk, as opposed to the Grand Hyatt Tokyo, where they do everything, and do it all better than the regular staff.

Hannah was a gem; I would say she has filled James' rather considerable shoes nicely.
I'm glad that I got to see the "pre-rennovation" suite. The post-renno design is pleasing to the eye, but not nearly as "Hawaiian" as the old one.

That is exactly what we got in both rooms for our longer stay last month (5 nights). For the single night 2 weeks later just the regular turndown chocolates and a welcome card plus postcard.

We got that too.

Beg to differ on the RC. While the balcony is nice, the offerings were pretty much the same every day. But maybe for a US Hyatt....

I had heard horror stories about club lounges in the US, but HRW wasn't bad at all. Those vegetables with the phenomenal Maui Onion Dip are all I need, everything else is a bonus. Better RC than Hyatt Regency Tokyo, IMHO.

But, after returning to the Napua Club at the Grand Wailea for the first time in nearly 20 years...I can relate to the horror stories now.

The salad bar is the best part.

Still, having to pay for alcohol in a club lounge in the US irks me.

When you see the Club lounges at the GH MEL or even the HR Sharm el Sheikh you realise it's not that hard to have a very good spread of food.

Alcohol in the RC in Waikiki is free for diamonds for the past few months.

Few updates. Shor will stop serving dinner. They are getting rid of the sushi bar at Japengo and eliminating room service. Some staff will be laid off as they cut F&B services.

You'll still be able to order food apparently and they will have runners to bring to room.

Apparently the room service is a very senior/desirable position so this effects everyone as the union will force reallocation of staff by seniority. Even some of the favorites at Swim aren't safe in their current role.

Thanks Blackstone!!

Most nights the lounge was good enough for us.

Japengo will remain just not the sushi bar. So it will be swim or Japengo for dinner.

I really like Japengo (and especially sushi bar) but obviously in the minority since it is very dead in there.

WOW that says a lot for how the management is running the hotel. Sure wish the Colony was still there. Japengo most likely will not last as well, if they failed at the Sushi then the rest will follow. Actually the Sushi Bar at the Marriott is far better.

If the hotel can not keep a restaurant going on site then the bookings will ultimately go elsewhere.

Too bad

That's a shame. I had a few dinners at Shor and it was good. Japengo was so-so, and it won't be missed.

Never ordered room service, so I won't miss it.

Had a great sushi dinner at Japengo in December. Service was ok, but the food was excellent. Sorry to hear that it'll be closing.

Japengo is not closing - don't want to start that rumor. They are only getting rid of the Sushi Bar in it. Shor is also not closing, but will not serve dinner.

Yep - I was referring to the sushi bar within Japengo.

Haven't ate at SHOR for a couple of years. Think we had breakfast there on my first stay at the Hyatt, back when I was just a Plat and didn't have access to the RC.
