Just finished up a three day Hyatt hop in San Diego. Had stays at the Manchester Grand, Mission Bay, and La Jolla properties all at the same room rate of $131/night.

Base points given were as follows:
Mission Bay - 652
Grand - 655 ^
La Jolla - 754

Miami Hyatt, Weston (FL) Hyatt Bonaventure, and Hyatt at the Blue (Doral, FL) all have had repeated posting errors, including base rate being off by 5%-15%. No problem getting these corrected by GP Customer Service; however, despite advising agents every time that these appear to be reoccurring computer errors, they persist.

I wonder how many points were added to accounts due to my posting this thread? I mean, I know some people most likely were always checking this, but I am happy to know that it seems that a bunch of people benefited from my experience and my posting it.

This is the type of point posting that mystifies me - the GH is precisely on - Mission Bay is short by 3 poitns while La Jolla is over by 99 points - so you're 96 points ahead - this is a case where I just let it go even though you do have a claim for 3 points at Mission Bay - it's just not worth the headache.

Could you please PM your Gold Passport information to me? I'll be happy to look into the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay point posting for you.

Sincerely,

Nick B.

Thanks for posting this thread. From my last two stays (as a diamond):

HR Chicago, 5 nights, rate of $199 for 4 nights, $209 for the fifth, plus approx $175 in dining:
Base points - 995
Bonus points - 298

HR Philadelphia, 1 night, rate of $199:
Base points - 179
Bonus points - 51

Has anyone else seen this large of a discrepancy? Looks like it's just a few points here and there for most, but we're talking THOUSANDS of points missing from just these two stays...whats the easiest way to correct this? Should I call GP or email Mr. Zidell? I'm considering the latter, as a few points wouldn't be too concerning, but thousands of missing points is really frustrating, especially as I wouldn't have noticed if not for this thread!

Yes, I have started seeing these discrepancies. Twice in the last 2 stays. :-(

Nick, I appreciate the offer but as peteropny states I'm up 96 points. My concern is the wide ranging difference between the properties. How is 652 points even possible? Aren't all room rates in whole dollar amounts?

Same here -- e-mailed and had them corrected but I was shortchanged approximately 3,000 points for the last few stays.

I would blame Opera and different charge codes.

One more mistake

Hyatt Cambridge, base rate $160, Diamond member, 720 base points posted (should have been 800), 216 bonus points instead of 240; total 104 point shortage. Contacted GP CS online, problem was corrected quickly (but I'm not happy to have yet another posting challenge with Hyatt!)

Here's another

Hyatt Boston, base rate $166 x 2 nights x 5 points/dollar should 1660, I only received 1634. 30% Diamond bonus should be 498, I only received 490.

I called and the CSR who was happy to adjust the missing points.

This sort of discrepancy is similar to what I have experienced on every single stay I have had during the past 2 months, at different Florida properties. I believe all of the reservations were AAA package rates, including breakfast, so maybe there is something involved with that. It certainly is annoying and a waste of time for customers and HGP, alike.

They are not, I have a few stays here that are xx.10, AAA rates tend to do this when its 10% off or so.

I calculated all of mine after reviewing this thread. excluding diamond amenity not posting I am positive about 200 points, hopefully they can tell me how or why. Great to see Jeff offering assistance.

You are right. I found some of the $.10 rates and even $.65 rates the other day. It still doesn't explain how $131 could be calculated to be 652 points.

Gold Passport Concierge, are the points auto-calculated based upon eligible costs or does the hotel report the calculated points? In other words, is there a problem with GP's system or at the hotel?

Good Afternoon!

To answer your question skunker the points are automatically calculated based on the eligible charges that are sent over to Gold Passport.
As always, please feel free to PM us if you have any concerns.

Happy Travels,
Chrissi R.
