Conversion to AA staggered?
I transferred 150K GP points to AA a few days ago. Today the 15K HYATT POINT CONVERSION BONUS showed up in my AA account but no sign of the based miles. Is this typical?
I'm in the same boat. The BONUS posted but not the base miles.
I' am still waiting for my conversion to Flying Blue for 7 weeks now.
My conversion has been the opposite. I converted about a week and a half ago. My 20K base posted, but I'm still waiting on the 5K bonus.
Is there an existing thread which has information about this?

did you guys really need some AA miles? I'm curious as the conversion seems a generate a pretty poor yield of AA miles (IMO).

$10000 at Starwood yields me 30,000 Starpoints which is around 37500 miles (1 Starpoint = 1.25 miles). The same spend at Hyatt yields 65,000 GP points which is around 32500 miles (1 GP point = 0.5 miles). 5000 miles difference. Both ratios assume you transfer in the increments triggering the bonus. The program with a poor yield to airlines miles is Hilton. As yosithezet indicated, the miles are needed to get past AA's MM thresholds. |
