Its ok - I used to get excited when someone from Nigeria offers me 1M dollars, until someone burst my bubble as well.

On a serious note: I think the people who are picked will be the special ones. I'm guessing quite a bit of the selection will be based upon the prose they asked for on "where's your favorite vacation spot?"

I got to the final stage where it asked me to accept being part of the community, give them my address, etc, etc..

Based on your responses to this survey, we think you'd be a great member of the Hyatt Gold Passport online community.

There are many benefits to becoming a member of the Hyatt Gold Passport Community.

Be Part of an Exclusive Community: You'll be part of a private, secure online community of only about 500 members.
Express Your Opinions: You will help us understand the needs of travelers like you - what decisions are important to you when choosing hotels and loyalty programs, how you stay on top of trends, how you employ technology, where you go for new information, etc.
Interact Directly with Company Leaders: You'll be able to provide us with valuable feedback to help Hyatt leadership develop products, brands and services that meet your needs. We'll also answer any general questions or concerns you might have in a timely manner, and keep you informed about how we are using your feedback.
Learn From Others: You'll get to see what other members are thinking about and doing.
Form New Friendships: In addition to talking online with Hyatt Hotels, you'll be able to discuss any topics you'd like with other community members.
Receive Insider Information and Rewards: In exchange for your participation, you will have access to insider information about what's going on at Hyatt, as well as the chance to earn periodic rewards and attend exclusive special events for the community.
It's Easy and Convenient: All of this will be done via the Internet, so you can participate from anywhere, when it's most convenient for you.

If you agree to become a member, we would ask that you commit to the following:

Log on to the community at least once a week to give us your thoughts about topics under discussion. (You can plan on spending 5 to 15 minutes per visit.)
Participate in community-initiated surveys or conversations each time you log in.
Be willing to talk with other community members on a variety of topics.
Be willing to receive emails (typically once a week) from a Community facilitator.
The final screen said that those chosen will receive an email from the group facilitator in the next week or two.

For those who received an invite, to which category do you belong?
A: Accepted and DID NOT mention participation in Flyertalk

B: Accepted and mentioned participation in Flyertalk

C: Accepted and mentioned participation in Flyertalk and other community

D: Not accepted and DID NOT mention participation in Flyertalk

E: Not accepted and mentioned participation in Flyertalk

F: Not accepted and mentioned participation in Flyertalk and other community

I am hoping I end up in Category B, but I could end up in E.

Did the site ask you for your name and mailing address, and then tell you that the facilitator would start to email within a week or two?

I'm guessing they're going to judge people based upon the quantity/quality of the open ended question; gave me flashbacks to standardized testing.
