Two hotels, one night?
I've currently got FS-Parents booked with my Diamond # at the SF Regency next month. On the same day, I may get a bump on my flight, so I would stay at the Santa Clara HR. Would I run into issues if I had two stays from one night, under my Diamond #?

No, why would you? As long as you are the one who checks in and uses the room, there won't be any problem

I am almost certain that you can't get stay credit and points for both stays. Also I think you will only get diamond benifits for one of these stays.

To quote: "You cannot earn more than 1 stay credit per night no matter how many rooms you pay for (you will earn the points for multiple rooms if you are paying for them) or how many properties you are paying for that night (however, if you are able to convince a CSR why there was a good reason why you were in 2 properties for the same night (eg you were already checked into a property on the East Coast but had to travel to the West Coast and checked into another property there), you may get 2 stay credits that night)." http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hyatt...ease-read.html |

The FAQ says no.

I wouldn't worry about the Diamond benefits- virtually no way that one property is going to know that the OP is also staying at another Hyatt on the same night. Even if they did know, they would not care.
Will the OP be checking in at both hotels? Parents will not get Diamond benefits on their stay if OP is not present to check in. I wouldn't worry about any of this. People make and cancel backup reservations all the time, it's no big deal. |

Even with them as a registered guest? I could always call the hotel and say that I was delayed and to make sure they get the bennies..
If they want a club room or suite you should pay a rate for that category, redeem points for an upgrade, or book a club room/ suite award. |

However, the reality says yes. I did it a couple of times and it worked. |

Then maybe the FAQ should be updated accordingly.

Well, but I am not sure now what the OP's intentions are. The goldpassport perks are, of course, only granted if the account holder uses the room. They are not granted if he only checks into the hotel and gives the room to others. That would be against the T&Cs.
Furthermore, why even bother with all of this trouble? I just did a random search for HR San Fransisco, and a club room is a whopping $35 more expensive than a standard room for the night I entered. The OP should simply book a club room for parents. |
