How much do you guys pay for the extension of your Hyatt status on your own dime?

About 90% of the cost. My business travel is few and far between. But I prepaid a couple of years' Diamond status buying Check Certs from Costco at a 20% savings. I also primarily book AAA and Govt. rates, stay mostly on weekends, and take advantage of any "stays count double" promos.

$0.00, but a whole lot of my time. All business travel for me. I use points & FFNs for personal travel.

I had good luck this year because I could cancel my point booking for my two week vacation and replace it by a revenue booking.

72k points came back to my account. 12 x 100 $ went out of my pocket. So, I calculate 75k points as 720 $. Hence, my spending for the status would be 1'200 - 720 = 480 $. However, in these 480 $ are also some benefits included, e.g. status extension, new suite upgrade vouchers, guaranteed suite for my vacations (which would not be included if I had done it with points).

Thus, I consider my status extension to be at (around) zero cost.

Tangible cost - $0.00 as I was able to acquire diamond status through business travel

Intangible cost (i.e. my fiance getting angry because I decide to take the 7am flight home instead of the 8pm the night before so I can get another night/stay at the Hyatt Place by the airport) - cannot be put into dollars and cents

100% personal, leisure, out-of-pocket. Wish Senior Rates were a little lower.

Hm? I would rather be interested to learn how many $$$$$ you pay out of your pocket instead of percentage

The $$$ I spend on travel is my personal biz, not yours

The percent I spend is 95% my own dime.
When traveling for business, I have zero say in who I fly or where I stay.
The airline selected for me has a fair chance of being in my preferred Alliance.
But the hotel selected for me is rarely in the Gold Passport program
