Luxury Hyatt - Where to go?

2 Free nights - Normally a Hilton traveller but want to use these nights.
U.S. or Europe locations. Retired and want to be the "tourist". Not Asia.
Any recommendations. Read thru numerous reviews and rather "overwhelming". Would like nice surroundings, pool, close to attractions.

The Park Hyatt Milano or Paris Vendome are both spectacular hotels that you won't soon forget. If you are interested in either city, then you won't go far wrong.

Second that opinion, but no pool at either, I don't think.

I'd also recommend the PH Chicago but opinions on that hotel are a bit more scattered on this site.

How about trying the PH Aviara (former FS) in So Cal? I haven't stayed at either that or Hyatt Huntington beach but I'd pick it over the latter.

It does have a pool, but it's pretty small and uninspiring. The location is great and I actually think it's a nice hotel - but not quite as nice as some of the more upmarket PHs (or even its cousin in Washington DC, which could be an option).

Doesn't fit US, Europe or Asia so I don't know if this is OT or not. If jet lag doesn't bother you, PH Sydney.

If you stay in the US PH Chicago and the Hyatt Clearwater Beach. In Europe the PH Paris or the PH Istanbul are my favorites.

One of the best Hyatt properties is Kauai. So much peace and beauty!

I cannot imagine that drive could be done in a half hour even in the middle of the night, let alone when there was a game on. It could take a half hour to get to the 134 freeway in the Valley over Laurel Canyon and my feeling is that other possible routes are worse. Maybe you have a suggestion I missed?

You could head up the 2 to the 134. Even at 4pm, I have gotten from sunset to Pasadena in 30 mins. I would steer clear of both laurel canyon and the 110. But yes, it is doable.
