Also I would just need to show proof of one stay in my Elite program? Thanks!
Pretty sure it's a one time only deal.

The last few years have been a bit different.... they seem to allow more than one challenge. Who knows how long that will last. Seems a bit too good to be true, especially with all the maximizing.

They've allowed more than 1 challenge in 1 calendar year even? That would be nuts!

Who said anything about more than one in a year.... but a little more than once in a lifetime.

That would be good enough for me! I'm starting the challenge now for a trip to Andaz Maui next month, and I certainly wouldn't mind doing it again for Paris or the Maldives!

I emailed on Feb 13 about the status challenge and got a prompt response and everything set up within 24-36 hours. Currently staying at the Park Hyatt Sydney - got upgraded to Opera view room and lovely free breakfast each morning.

If the trial offer changes within a year, more than one Challenge in one year maybe a possibility..

All we know for sure is that the current offer ends 30th April.

Hyatt may or may not run it again, and may or may not start it on 1 June again... Since I'm currently on my Challenge, I suppose I don't care!

But given the fact that other chains, Marriott in particular, have gone away from status matches, and even challenges, Hyatt could decide to withdraw theirs as well. (although I think it's fantastic for getting new customers to try a new chain - I for one am now hooked because of these fantastic suite upgrades!!)

By the way, I was approved for the status challenge around February 14th and expected to get Diamond status until about April 13th (60 days).

My online profile says I have it until April 30th.

I don't know if others have reported this, but if they give you two months plus until the end of the second month, it may make sense to apply very early in the month. Not sure if you get that much time to actually complete the challenge (I would expect not).

Your expectation is correct. Folks should be careful with your "about" because it is only 60 days. Folks should not confuse the duration of the Challenge period with how long the Diamond status lasts. Yes, in your case, the status will last until the end of April. But not your Challenge dates. If you want an analogy, think about the fact that everyone who was Diamond in 2013 is still Diamond until 28 Feb 2014, whether they re-qualified or not for 2014. But none of the nights between 1 Jan and 28 Feb 2014 will count with those of 2013 in determining 2014 status.

There are folks who do the Diamond challenge without planning to complete it, if they, for example, have stays booked with points at the high-end properties where Diamond status adds a pleasant kick to things. Depending on the timing of these stays, your point about starting the Challenge early in the month is relevant, since it would give you more time to milk the transient Diamond status.

You always keep your status through the end of the month but have to complete your stays within the 60day window.

Are corporate rates excluded from eligible stays? I saw this in the terms "Volume Account Rates" and saw negotiated rates - not sure if that's the same as "Corporate Rate". For example I ask for "Client Rate" for certain clients when staying at their preferred hotels.

Hi All,

i understand that the signup ends on April 30th 2014. I have a vacation coming up in May and wanted the diamond status for the same. Since the challenge is only valid for 60 days, i was waiting to sign up.

My question now is, is it too late to signup for the challenge? If i do signup on Let's say April 1st, will i maintain the diamond status for 60 days starting April 1st? or will it end on April 30th?

Also, what documents would they need to prove my Hilton gold status? I do have hilton gold status due to my citi hilton card, i also have 4 hilton stays in last six months but that was not how i got my hilton gold status...does this matter?
