Hi,

Do the 4 confirmed suite u/g you get in the beginning of the challenge remain in your account after (if) you fail to qualify?

I assume they don't(?), and if they don't - can I still, while being a Diamond, make a far away reservation into the future and get the u/g remain confirmed - even that by the time the stay will occur I won't be a Diamond at all...?

Also, can I give away my u/g to other people for their reservations...? or are these u/g for the sole use of the Diamond member?

THANKS!

1. Upgrades stay in account until expiry in Feb 2014, even if you fail.
2. You can continue to make, amend and cancel the suite night upgrades until expiry
3. You can't give the upgraded reservations to others - I'm sure the hotel will have no. hesitation in downgrading the room back down to standard if the upgrade holder doesn't turn up.

Dumb question...
I am all set for the 12 nights for the challenge in October/November of this year...but 2 nights are at a Hyatt House which I can get with a good prepaid rate now. If I book it and prepay it in May, does it count only when I stay in October? I would guess so, but want to be sure!

Yes -- it counts in October.

+1 - but I really don't like to do prepaid this far in advance since things may change - of course if the rate is exceptional I may feel differently.

Does Hyatt Place and House offer any diamond benefits?

1. Does Hyatt Place Or House stay count valid for 1,000 points? (1st 6 stays - 6,000 max points)
2. Does Hyatt Place or House offer welcome diamond amenity or 1,000 points offer?
3. Hyatt Place and House already offer free breakfast...so no diamond breakfast or refunds?

1) not certain, someone else needs to chime in here....But I beleive that is correct.

2)...at Hyatt Place a choice of 500 bonus points or a complimentary beverage; at Hyatt House properties a choice of 500 bonus points or $5 credit in the Guest Market; at Hyatt Residence Club Resorts 500 bonus points will be awarded...

3) Correct

You also receive your Diamond point bonus on all qualified stays.

If I want my diamond membership (because of the challenge) last until FEB 2015, when shall I call hyatt CS and ask them to start for me the challenge?

I have more than 25 nights stays in Aug, 2013 starting the 6th and I wanna take advantage of these stays to complete a challenge and still have the diamond benefits for these stays.

The answer seems obvious... just before your stay on August 6th.
The cutoff point for 2014/2015 expiration date is most likely somewhere in June.

August 5th would be too late to take advantage of suite upgrade availability

I wanna try to upgrade to a suite on the first cutoff day, so I wanna know what day should be?

Why didn't you say so..... only Hyatt knows for sure, just ask them.
And it takes a while before the suite upgrades are deposited in your account after they change your status.

My wife and I want to spend 4 nights in Tokyo in October at one of the two Hyatts there. We are thinking of both getting the Hyatt CC for the 2 free nights each to complete this stay.

Is it better to do the Hyatt challenge now, get the CC with the 2 suite upgrades OR is it better to get the CC and do the challenge right before our trip to get the diamond benefits -- mostly I'm thinking of the access to Regency Club or Grand Club lounges?

Or is there a way to have my cake and eat it to (is 60 days enough time to get the CC--meeting spend is not an issue), get the nights+suits and stat as a diamond (will rooms still be available within two or 3 weeks)?

So basically when is the best time in my situation to do the match?

Thanks!

I just accepted the Hyatt Diamond challenge. Need 12 nights. First night stayed using free hotel night stay from credit card. Received credit as a "stay" even though it wasn't a paid stay. Will be staying in Hyatt Regency London for 7 nights. Will be staying two more (paid) nights in next 30 days. That brings me up to 10. Does anyone know whether the 2 remaining stays can be from purchasing $20,000 on the Hyatt credit card? On their website it says:

In addition, your Hyatt Credit Card provides you with a unique opportunity to earn and maintain Diamond status—our highest level of membership—more easily. Simply spend the following amounts in a calendar year, and we will award you with credits toward status:
$ 20,000 annually = 2 stay / 5 night credits
$ 40,000 annually = an additional 3 stay / 5 night credits

Or must the 2 remaining stays be actual stays?

I'm currently staying in a Hyatt property for the first time and of course I signed up to the loyalty scheme before I checked in. For this stay I'll be here for 3 weeks, then I'm going away for a few days and back for another 4 weeks. Coincidentally I'll be here for exactly 50 nights... Anyway, I've just read about this diamond challenge and am wondering if it's possible I could sign up to it before my second stay, in order to be diamond for the whole of the second stay. I currently have Hilton Gold too. On my Hyatt account I have a UK address, if that makes any difference.

Could anyone advise? Thanks.
