Diamond-Andaz Mauai
I have Marriott Gold until 6/20 due to challenge, I have made a few stays however I didn’t meet criteria to maintain. I also have IHG Plat. because of CC with no stays. If I request Diamond Challenge on 6/19, and have stay beginning 8/30-9/2 at Andaz Maui will my diamond benefits be extended throughout my stay since I checked in on 30th? Or should I just complete stay with IHG in July and begin challenge in July?? Your Help is appreciated, free breakfast alone is worth it at this place, so I hear.

Just make a printscreen of your Marriot status before it expires and then offer that to Hyatt somewhere in July. Nobody cares that your status info was from last month....

Already did this morning, just thought they may question the 6/17 date. Thanks for your response, I'll give it a shot in July.

Not sure how to answer your question about the status being extended on your stay, but I can tell you that the Andaz Maui bfast is pretty legit and diamond status will save you the $45pp that the buffet would be. I just came back from Maui and stayed there (w/DSU)...loved it and wish I was still there . Now back to the grind...

Another newbie question. Will I have to rebook my current points reservation after I get Diamond challenge offer, or will they recognize status at check in? I would assume I wouldn't have to rebook, also assume from research can't use DSU because I booked with points, correct?

I need to conplete my Diamond challenge by the end of the month. Would a stay with check-in on June 30 and check-out on July 1 count?

IME with Hyatt stays they are posted as the check-out date. I would therefore venture to say that it wouldn't. However, a PM to GP Concierge could confirm (or help you).

I agree with the above post that an email to Hyatt would clarify, but my guess is that they would count the night. I'd email them to be sure and save the response just in case.

Are you sure? You retain preliminary Diamond status until the end of the month, but the challenge is only 60 days from the start. So the challenge period could end before the time you have as a preliminary Diamond ends.

Yes, I signed up on April 30 so the two dates are identical in my case.

There's still an inconsistency in the reply emails from agents when requesting a trial so check carefully:
I've replied back asking for a clarification.
Your account now reflects as Diamond for the next sixty (60) days. To maintain your Diamond status through February 2015, simply stay twelve (12) eligible nights at any Hyatt hotel in the next 60 days. During this trial period, you will also earn 1,000 Hyatt Gold Passport bonus points on your first six (6) eligible nights, up to a maximum of 6,000 bonus points.

Why not just message them specifically asking which date is the last night that a stay will count towards your trial?
I made sure to do this when I started mine, and the answer was a day or two off what I was expecting, so it was good to be sure.
