Unfortunately, the website is wrong according to a Hyatt phone rep I spoke with this morning. She stated it is Cat 5. I pushed back, saying that the website shows it as Cat 4 so it should only be 15,000 points for a standard room. She, not surprisingly, said it didn't really matter what was shown on the website but that her "booking system" reigns supreme and it has the property listed as Cat 5.

Also haven't been able to find dates, but it seems that they don't have their base room loaded under standard rates (only seeing Fountain View or higher). But they do seem to have the base Grand King/Queen rooms available under Bed and Breakfast rates.

The standard rooms are available for standard rates for at least some nights. I checked June 1st-3rd and saw the standard rates for Grand King and Grand Queen.

I am trying to use Gold Passport points for just one night, October 21 and it is telling me no reward space. I can't imagine the property should be so restricted on award space during what is still hurricane season, no less with very few bookings likely on file for that night as of now. There has got to be something more to this ???

I was interested in reviews of the property and came to my trusted FT sources.
The award nights are indeed 20K points per night, plus $30/night resort fee. Not sure if that is just a website issue and does not apply per WoH award night redemption; or if they are actually enforcing it.
I was able to speculatively book a night in November. My confirmation shows:
Additional Tax, Fees & Service Charges:
ROOM V A T: 7.50%
C B R A LEVY: 4.00%
C B R A V A T: 0.30%
N P I P B LEVY: 6.00%
N P I P B V A T: 0.45%
RESORT FEES: 30.00
RESORT FEE V A T: 2.25
SERVICE CHARGE: 20.63
The Cancellation policy is rather insane as well:
14 DAYS PRIOR TO ARR REQUIRED/CC WILL BE BILLED 1NT RM AND TAX
Hopefully it really is not $53 in taxes and fees per night on top of 20K points.
Will see (if I actually go ahead with this stay).

Just back from the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar. Remind me of Vegas on a beach. Thought it was excellent. Not sure when this place fully opens in the next year how it will handle all the people. But, for now it was great and already planning next trip down.

I'm biased because I hate Vegas (and I'm not even 30 - just far too many work trips there) but calling something "Vegas on a beach" and then in the same paragraph saying "thought it was excellent" seems contradictory to me but that might just be me.
