Getting Gold status without stays
I recall reading something a while back about getting automatic Gold status through an Amex card or airline credit card. I did some searching but couldn't find anything. Anyone know off hand? Thanks.

Gold is Hyatt's base level, so you probably meant to ask about Platinum status. I'm not sure if one can get Platinum status through an airline invitation, but let's see what others have to say.

and according to unfounded speculation and rumor in the Hyatt Credit card thread, you may want to wait a "month or two" until the Hyatt credit card comes out.

If you are Lufthansa HON you get a Hyatt Platinum card through Lufthansa. Also a Hilton Gold, some old Kempinski status that is now turned into the leading hotels of the world Black Card, various rental car status, etc.
That's how I got my Hyatt status initially. |
