Guar Avail question
 

I just booked the last guaranteed availability room for the GH istanbul for sometime in June next year for a 5 day stay and it's now showing as sold out. It's possible that I may have to shorten my stay to 3 days only. Will I be able to do this later on by calling the diamond line? If I try to modify it online I just get the message saying that the hotel is sold out.

as long as your check-in date is same, you can mention to the FD that you only need 3 nights.

But if you know ahead of time that you're only staying 3 nights - call CS to modify (not a problem if the 3 nights is within your 5 night reservation) - I'm sure the property will appreciate it since they're busy.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't want to be in a situation in which I would have to cancel and rebook in which case I'm running the risk the room wouldn't be available anymore but hopefully a diamond agent will be able to just change the dates. The thing is that I'm not sure how many nights I'll be staying until I find more about this conference next year.

Since you're there for a conference - do check the official conference rate which could be cheaper than the Guaranteed Availability Rate - also do check close in since the conference will likely release unsold rooms from the room block.
