New Andaz Hotels in China, India, & Turks and Caicos

Really looking forward to Andaz Provodenciales ^ ^ ^ To bad we have to wait until 2014.

CHICAGO (June 7, 2010) – Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) announced today the signing of management agreements for three new Andaz properties. The hotels will be located in Sanya Sunny Bay, China; Delhi, India; and Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. These planned properties, situated in prime urban and resort locations, will be the latest additions to the expanding Andaz brand, which only three years after its debut, includes 11 properties open or under development in six countries.

From the Turks and Caicos press release:
"Additional Andaz hotels in development include Andaz Austin, Texas; Andaz Amsterdam, Andaz Papagayo, Costa Rica; Andaz Delhi, India; and Andaz Sanya Sunny Bay, China"

Whether or not they are actually "on track" remains to be seen.

What do you find is the main distinguishing factor between hyatt and their Andaz brand?

The unconventional staff mixture and unsorted check-in process. Thats the only thing that keeps things in china in order - discipline.

I visited the Andaz website for the first time in a while. I didn't realize that many of the upcoming properties are on the website.

Also, I noticed that Austin is not listed.

The list grows. From an article on the coming one on Maui:

Other existing Andaz hotels are in West Hollywood; San Diego; New York (Wall Street and Fifth Avenue); and London. Besides Wailea, Andaz hotels are under construction in Amsterdam; Delhi; Sanya Sunny Bay, China; Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands; Papagayo, Costa Rica; and Shanghai. The Shanghai hotel will have its soft opening this week.

There may be bits on all these elsewhere.

I'd read recently in a different thread on this board that Turks & Caicos hasn't even passed the approval process yet. It appears that this project is mostly dead.
