2,500 Bonus Points - Bed Type Guarantee
Recently I made a reservation at a HP and they only showed king accessible rooms available, which I booked without a complaint - king is set as my preference. When I went to check-in, I was asked if I wanted the 500 bonus points as a diamond or the welcome amenity. Before I could respond, the front desk clerk said that they already posted 2,500 bonus points to my account - I didn't argue with the free points. When the points posted to my account, it said that the 2,500 points were for "Plat/Diam Bed Type Guarantee." Were these points because the room was accessible (no tub)? Not to be greedy, but should I have also received the 500 welcome points? Thanks.

Did the hotel fail you give you a king bed? What part of the bed guarantee did they fail to deliver?
|
Please post more details--this is a puzzler.
|
No, I received a king bed, just no tub. And as I mentioned in my first post, the points were already noted on my file when I went to check-in.

I thought the 2500 points for a bed did not apply to HP.

And he booked a king and got a king. I think someone on property was confused by the rules and misapplied them. It is a nice gift for the OP. I can't even figure out the 2,500 points as the bonus is supposed to be 5,000 points.
10. Does Hyatt guarantee my reservation bed type preference? This benefit is reserved for Hyatt Gold PassportŪ Platinum and Diamond members only and is available at Hyatt Hotels & ResortsŪ worldwide, Hyatt Place and Hyatt Summerfield Suites. Hyatt Gold Passport Platinum and Diamond members will be guaranteed the bed type (i.e. king, queen, double etc.) for the room type selected at the time of reservation. If the hotel is unable to honor the bed type at check-in, members will receive 5000 Hyatt Gold Passport bonus points and their room will be changed the next day for the requested bed type http://www.hyatt.com/hyatt/customer-...ns.jsp#jump-10 |
Well now, I certainly had not ever noticed that.

Can you show me that reference? Intuitively, what you say makes sense. However, I can only find the Ts and Cs that I've listed above that appear to clearly state it will be 5,000 irregardless of whether it is a Hyatt or a Hyatt Place.

Ahh, yes, I see it. (Did you add the text to your initial post? I'd swear I didn't see it when I responded.)
Hyatt has a conflict between their FAQ and their Ts and Cs. I hope they will see this and update the FAQ to reflect the latter. |

Do you have to ask for such 2,500 points from the hotel when they do not have your bed type reserved?
