No more 2000 UA miles for non-elite, any other good airline alternative promos?

Last 5 stays since March, I just received 500 UA miles - which is just the base miles and not the 2000 bonus UA miles. For my January stay, I received the full 2500 UA miles without any problems. Did they change the terms and condition meanwhile so that only the elites earn 2500 UA miles?

I have 42000 UA miles, but I am not an Elite. Mostly I earned UA miles from the hotel promotions and very less flight miles. How can I become UA Elite?

With Hyatt, I was hoping that I would earn 2000 bonus UA miles plus 500 base miles for every stay. If I am earning just 500 base miles, why should I stick with UA? Is there any other airline, where I can earn more miles? I am a frequent flyer with AA and Southwest. I have 5-6 stays next week with Hyatt and I want to make the best out of it.

Kindly suggest me the best way to earn with Hyatt or how to become UA Elite.

Thanks. (this post can go both in Hyatt and United forums, but I am posting it here so that I can have more advise from you guys, but moderators, feel free to move this thread accordingly).

Depends what level in their program you're looking for, and they all require actual flight miles. The lowest tier is Premier for 25,000 miles per year. MidTier is Premier Executive at 50K, and top tier is 1K at 100,000 miles per year.

Keep an eye out for any promotions that offer double status miles. Nothing in play right now, but a lot of speculation on the UA forum that such an offer may return. You might also look at their credit card offers as some offer 5-10,000 miles towards status based on purchases.

If you are doing 2+ night stays, you might also want to look at

I believe that you need to have posted 90X and been a member for at least 90 days to qualify.

Bummer

I do a lot of one night stays so this means I'm back to Hilton or Starwood properties after the Welcome Back promotion is over.

will need a UA elite member to nominate you. 3P is UA premier associate status.

Wow, thanks for alerting me to this problem.
I'm sure I saw bonus miles posted in my GP account for stays up to 4/16 when I checked last week.
Now all the bonus miles are gone

Thanks all, I matched my AA status and became a Premier, so no worries. Next thing will be to fly 7500 miles within 3 months.
