3rd party booking

I'm sure it was covered already, but i can not find it. Do 3rd party bookings, lile Expedia, give you any credit? FFF, nights toward status, possibility to use Diamond upgrades? I know, they don't give points or miles, right?

I think most of your questions are answered here.

No stay credit - therefore none of your list.

The only exception is air+hyatt packages.

It seems from there that Diamond benefits do apply. Any difference between PL and other sources?

Nope - Hyatt gives status perks for all stays no matter how booked - what rate etc.

I believe the OP is asking about a non-opaque booking, such as a travel agent booking (Expedia, Travelocity. My understanding is that this type of booking garners the same benefits as one would receive if booked through hyatt. Opaque bookings (such as Priceline's mystery hotel, ...) do not garner full benefits.

Exactly. So, Expedia booking should be ok for FFN?

Well. probably. Are you paying in advance (not likely to earn), or they just made you a reservation and you pay at the hotel (earns).

Expedia booking is probably not ok to earn FFN credit - most agency type bookings (Expedia, Travelocity) do not earn a stay credit (and therefore FFN credit).

All stays at Hyatt (revenue, award, Pricline/Hotwire, any other method of booking) earns full status perks - but not necessarily stay credit / points.

Prepaid.
So, I will not get a confirmed upgrade then as a Diamond either?

Call GP CS and have them add your GP# to the reservation so you get your upgrade.

Most prepaid rates are package deals or bulk-breaker block purchase rooms and don't earn, but if its a Hyatt.com price bought through Expedia acting as a conventional travel agent maybe. Longshot, but when you call Hyatt to add your number see what they say. I thought the suite upgrades had to be a qualifying rate and you may or may have one. There is no fee to call and ask, and what are they going to do besides tell you no?

You want the number added just to get the Diamond arrival points and any possibility of a random empty-hotel suck-up upgrade. Call ahead, and present the card at check-in as a backup. Verify the number is on the folio before check-out, have a few incidentals on the bill and hope for the best.

Thanks everybody! Does anyone have any personal experience with such bookings?
