Feel free to give comments on this sticky in this thread or point out promotions that we may have missed. However, at some point, we may delete posts so that this sticky remains "clean", please do not be offended.
(also feel free to edit this wiki to list current promos and remove outdated ones -- anyone with 90 days and 90 posts should be able to edit the wiki).
Can we please not remove promos until they are over > 1 month, to allow people chasing points etc easy access.

Yes, I am taking the board examination and received this pamphlet in the mail with the meeting rate. Although I suppose one could just keep increasing the numbers in the event ID until they found a hotel/dates they wanted.

Question 48 hour sales

Hi all. I'm a first time poster and new user to FT to please forgive me if my post is in the wrong place or I otherwise accidently do something "wrong".

I am curious if anyone can tell me how one would become aware of Hyatt's 48hour sales. I came across the promotion C48APR - valid for booking from 17 Apr - 18 Apr at 11:59pm for this month- purely by accident. I am a GP member but have never received notice of any types of sales. Also, how Phoenix/Gilbert.

Thanks in advance for any help and for your patience!

Welcome, danori.

I almost always learn of the sales through FlyerTalk and only through FlyerTalk. I subscribe to this Promos thread. Hyatt is very bad about letting even the best (Gold Passport) customers know.

Thank you 365RoadWarrior. I thought perhaps I had my correspondence settings on my GP account set wrong so I checked them earlier today and they were set to recieve emails, etc. It's nice to know what I need to do in order to find their sales and promos. I wish they made it easier. It seems like it used to be a breeze. It appears to me that it is like pulling teeth to get any good promos, discounts or extra GP points anymore. I remember when it used to be so easy!

Again, thanks for letting me know the real scoop! Happy Travels RoadWarrior!

First off - please allow me to welcome you to Flyertalk and our Hyatt forum. You certainly started out very well - posting the April 48 hr promo in the right thread!!

I have copied your post to its own thread since there is always some discussion every month when a new 48 hour promo is in effect and we'd rather have this thread "clean" for promo announcements etc and not extensive discussion of them - see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hyatt...hour-sale.html .

We usually post in this thread at least a link to the discussion thread since there are many who subscribe to this thread in order to get all updates.

The offer page for the Hyatt Visa Signature card says you get Platinum status as long as you have the card (although I learned, possibly too late for me, that it is best to use the 90-day offer first, then apply for the card once you already have Platinum, as that gives you two suite upgrades).

I signed up for both the 90-day offer and the Hyatt Visa card in the wrong order. How do I know which happened first? My account shows:
Tier: Platinum Member
Tier Expiration: 31 Aug 2012
Is the 31 August 2012 expiration due to the 90-day offer (it's more than 90 days) or the credit card status?

One technique to find meeting/conference rates is a Google search for
(meeting OR conference OR convention) "property name" month year
It's tedious, as you'll find hits for meetings at other properties that have links to the desired property, hits for meetings at other dates with mention of future meetings, etc. But if you plow through all the hits, you sometimes get surprisingly lucky.

GP Points Sale

I saw a post mentioning buying 24k points for $260 on May 9. Is there a points sales that I am not aware of?

But you need to be behind your computer at the start of the sale since there are only a few sets available.... And you probably won't be able to get a set due to high demand.

Thanks for the info. But I noticed in the FAQ that only US residents are eligible. Any experience that non-US residents can complete the transaction?

I have seen some non us-residents take advantage of the offers. I was able to purchase some points a few days ago using my US (mail forwarder) address and paying with a European credit card. So you might be able to do it.

The points still have to be posted though.

Thanks again, I might give it a try, although with little expectation of success due to the limited number available.

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hyatt...16-2012-a.html - May's 48 Hour sale.

For future reference - interested people may check http://www.hyatt.com/hyatt/specials/...ferId=39730828 to find out about these "sales" which seem to be usually mid-month.

I didnt realize it was a sale and saw some great prices for Hyatt Mission Bay on May 16. Now the prices are ~$100 more per night for weekend of June 8-10. Any suggestions on how to get sale price back or do these come up often?

I need 5 rooms with 2 nights each so the difference is over a $1000! I wish I realize it was a sale price and would "expire" and would have booked accordingly.

Do you have AAA? These "sale" prepaid reservations are not usually that much if at all better than AAA. If you don't have AAA, just reserve a AAA rate and go get a membership.

These sales are just about monthly (usually mid-month) so it probably won't come around again before your stay.

Also, the Costco rate code often takes 10% off.
