(Gone) Hilton New Orleans St. Charles Ave July 7/12-7/17 $5

I was just looking on hotels.com for New Orleans hotels, and a $5 rate came up. It seems to be available starting 7/12, and checking out anytime that week before (7/17 or before). Looks to be any room type (double, king, suite). I hope someone is able to use it.

Shows up as $5.00 in the list of hotels page on hilton.com, but not on the next page "Select your room and rate" as you proceed to book a room.

Is there another way to book and earn elite-qualifying stays/nights?

BostonPaul Jun 24, 2009 9:32 pm

Correct - after a check of many dates in the summer, most dates show the $5 on the initial screen, but that rate does not carry forward to the room pricing on the next screen - lowest rate I found was $93/nt. Oh well

It works on hotels.com and expedia all the way to the payment screen. It's a special rate non refundable hotel as well. Can't use this one but the last time I got this far with expedia it took my bookng and I nabbed the hotel for 2 GBP a night.

Nice one hi_volume^

Thanks everyone (esp hi_volume)! I'm booked 12th-16th. $22.64 all in. Suite! According to this promo, my $75 MasterCard gift card should arrive 6-8 weeks after my stay. Now, how to get to MSY...

boxo Jun 25, 2009 4:59 am

I'm thinking of making a 2nd res in an Exec level room for lounge access. ???

Mrp Alert Jun 25, 2009 7:44 am

Executive Room Type no longer available.

Mrp Alert Jun 25, 2009 7:47 am

Cant get it to book anymore...

MrHalliday Jun 25, 2009 8:03 am

July I am in Asia, so just playing around,
I have one exec night on the payment page....

As these are prepaid, in case of a no-show,
nothing will happen like getting billed at the rack rate?
I don't see any problem in the cancel T&C. This reservation is non-refundable and cannot be changed or cancelled. The property makes no refunds for no shows or early checkouts.

So, you could still get the MasterCard for 4x$5 nights?
Maybe not worth the hassle, but $50 is $50 :D.
OH..."$75 Prepaid MasterCard® card will be mailed to the billing address used for the booking within 4-6 weeks of your completed stay." Maybe that doesn't work.

Also, note the optional tour offered by Expedia:
Experience firsthand the story of Hurricane Katrina—one of America’s most devastating natural disasters. Picture pre-Katrina New Orleans; learn the catastrophic timeline of events, and witness the flood of support to resurrect the city. $35

edit: exec room still there on Hotels.com at 0930 CDT

idealflyer Jun 25, 2009 8:36 am

Wow, looks like the rate forget to add a 0. Oh yeah, and a 1 at the beginning too! :p I'm in for most of that week. Can anyone say Big Easy DO?

MrHalliday Jun 25, 2009 10:40 am

Still going at Expedia...7/13-17 in a suite, $23.

I wish it was later in the year, oh well....

Nice hotel, stayed there during Mardis Gras this past February on points. Only a short walk to bourbon street.

boxo Jun 25, 2009 11:11 am

I also saw it on exp uk and attempted to use a voucher, but would only get GBP3.06 (cost of 1 nt) taken off.

SJC/SFO-MSY fares are running $600-$700 all in. Thankfully I had a UA DBC FREE to use.

Gotta check the weather. Probably sweltering.
