Another reason the codes were pulled so quickly that hotels.com had a major IT glitch on them. While the T&C's of the codes excluded booking for all major hotel chains (as usual with these codes) in fact you could still use them for these chains hotels. Overall this was probably a really expensive promotion for hotels.com.

Topcashback.com is now offering a flat $14 cashback on all booking.com reservations. If you book individual nights, this is a good deal for inexpensive properties that you can't get other discounts for.

Did anyone else have their bookings cancelled by hotels.com? They said something about the booking being "speculative", which makes no sense. We have every intention of using them.

Were they fullflex v. prepaid? The T&C said it was only good for prepaid reservations, and some have reported that only their flexible ones were cancelled.

My date point

Just wanted to share my information.

Made three separate reservations for the same hotel using a 30$ discount coupon on the US site. The coupon dropped the total price from ~75$ to ~45$. The reservations were prepaid, but they are cancelable (1 day prior to arrival, I think). All three reservations are still intact. They do, however, include a note that I will not collect nights for the Welcome Rewards program since I used coupons for these reservations. I'm not sure if that note was there before.

On a different story: a friend booked about 6-7 nights, as singles, using the 30$CA coupon on the CA site. All reservations were prepaid, cancelable - and with a total price of less than 20$CA (some less than 10$CA). All reservations were cancelled.

Is it valid for all bookings or just prepaid ones? I have a regular (pay at the property) booking that I can rebook to take advantage of this offer if it is eligible.

Well, that's kind of the rub: we don't really know. There are no specifics listed. From my experience, both topcashback and booking.com are not perfect in making payments, especially in the past. That said, I have gotten cashback from booking.com for reservations I've paid for at the hotel. So this is LIKELY to work.

My recommendation is to monitor your bookings and demand the cashback if it doesn't automatically post ($14 is enough money for me to remember to do that). That's my strategy. In fact, like you, I rebooked a booking.com reservation I had for next week to get the additional cashback. I'll let you know what happens after my travel date.

Also curious if booking.com pay at the property are eligible for the 14 dollar cash back.
All the hotel choices at my destination are pay at the property.

Does it violate any booking.com or topccashback policies to make consecutive bookings at the same hotel, or otherwise make them decline to pay out? If so, would hotel hopping so no consecutive bookings at the same hotel take care of this issue? Some bookings might be under 14 dollars if that is an issue, but I do have proof from other OTA that that is my usual travel pattern, not some play be me to profit.

Googled but did not find an answer, for booking.com pay at the property can one still pay with a credit card at the property, or is one required to pay cash?

Thanks

Good news! My booking.com orders from yesterday are already tracking for $14 each on topcashback.com. Some of these are rebooks, and others are consecutive nights. So this deal should work very well.

FWIW, booking.com's parent company, Priceline, has offered a similar deal on airline tickets for years. It' been a flat $5 on topcashback. I've booked many cheapo one-way tickets, person-by-person. No problems.
