Well I was just about to make a booking for a Hilton property I saw on Travelocity last night using a code that worked last night (ESCAPE10) for 10% off, and as of this morning it doesn't. It is a GoodBuy Hotel and the code is still valid but now they seem to have changed the T's and C's for some (all??) codes with this new caveat:
Not Valid on Top Secret Hotels, Beaches Resorts, Four Seasons, Hyatt, Rosewood, Sandals, RIU, La Quinta and any brands associated with Hilton Worldwide*, Intercontinental Hotel Group**, Marriott***, Starwood Worldwide****, Choice*****, Fairmont******, Wyndham******* and Carlson********. Subject to hotel availability.
This is totally new and was changed without notice in the last 24 hours.

Yes, now you feel my pain. By combining a few promos, sometimes it was worth it (to me) to forgo points by booking one of the chains' properties on an OTA for a better price. This policy makes Travelocity a lot less attractive in those cases. Just ran a test booking on Orbitz for the same chains and they all came up ineligible too. Oh well, guess the gnome giveth and the gnome taketh away

Agree, I did the calcs on quite a few stays, and it's often worth forfeiting the points. Afterall, ICs have to honour my RA status anyway
, so I just email them in advance so that they can pre-upgrade.

No, I wasn't implying that Orbitz and Travelocity are affiliated. Was just checking the SPF#15 Orbitz code mentioned above and noticed it had the same hotel chains excluded. Not sure whether Orbitz also made the change recently or has been that way for a while- but Travelocity definitely did change earlier this week. Don't know about the other OTAs.
