I called LMT and got a very nice agent on the line. He called Flamingo and confirmed that they charge an extra resort fee.
He was not aware of any other venues that do not charge one except for some Travel Inn.

Flamingo

FYI, I just returned from a stay at the Flamingo last week. It was my second time at the hotel in the past three months. The first trip, booked via LMTClub, resulted in a remodeled 'high-roller' room looking out onto the Ferris Wheel. No resort fee was charged, and I was given $18 a day to spend at the Cafe Cappucino.

When I checked out LMTClub for my next trip I noted that a resort fee was clearly mentioned for the Flamingo, so opted to stay elsewhere. Interestingly, the day before I left for Vegas I decided to check LMTClub again and noticed that the resort fee was absent from the reservation confirmation page for Flamingo so went ahead and reserved it. Arrived at the hotel after midnight and was told that I had been upgraded to a mini-suite. It was dismal. Was not remodeled, clearly used and abused. To add insult to injury was told at check-in that resort fee would be assessed, and while I would still receive the $18 food credit daily, it was now only redeemable between 6:30 and 10:30AM at the same Cafe Cappucino. I didn't bother.

At check-out the clerk mentioned the resort fee as the only balance on my room account, and on I went. When I checked my credit card two days later I noticed that the entire hold, including resort fee, had been recredited. No additional charges. Huge YMMV I guess.

A few general comments about the Flamingo: for the price (often between $30-50 a night midweek) it really can't be beat. Prime location on the Strip. If you are lucky enough to get a remodeled room, sans resort fees, it's a no brainer. My biggest gripe about the place is the parking garage - it's small, packed, and unsafe. I pulled back in late one night and finally found a spot on the roof only to end up next to a car with sheets hanging over the windows and a 'couple' in the throes of passion. The next morning I came out to get something from the car and noticed several rental vehicles had their windows bashed in. Next time would park at Paris and walk over.

Regarding SLS, which was actually my second choice because I have status with Hilton - cool little property. I found a midweek rate of $39 + resort fee on their website. Hilton had it for $52. Ended up stopping in on Friday before my flight to burn a few dollars and found the casino absolutely dead. Kind of surprising. I've heard the property is struggling and you can tell. Buffet has been closed for months now with no ETA for reopening. Extremely well-connected to the monorail, but otherwise a bit far from the action.

I've stayed at the Flamingo 3 times in the past 3 years. Booked with LMT. I have never paid a resort fee on those visits. Last year I booked a room with free breakfast. I should have booked a room for 2 to get the $18 credit, vs the $9.00 credit I got as a single. The Cafe mentioned above serves drinks, muffins, and cakes. If you're looking for a hot breakfast, forget it. This is more of a takeout place.

Rates in December are $28.00. If you want wi-fi, that will cost you. Rates on Venere were in the low $40's for the same dates.

Link is on previous page. Enter in your mgm reservation number. Just make sure you have 2 people selected on the reservation, otherwise you'll only get one ticket.

DT Tropicana Las Vegas £22 per night

Yeah I know it's Las Vegas but this property has unusually cheap rates in December, plenty of nights, play around with it and see what comes up

It's on Netflights, I am not familiar with this OTA, they seem to be British but I cannot even tell if the rate is prepaid and/or refundable

I've been looking potentially for a 1 night in LAS, the prices are super low but all seem to add on like a $20 resort fee, sounds bogus to me, just build it into the price!

That is one of the slowest times in Las Vegas. There will be lots of great deals if you want to go anytime in December.

Looking at LMT club for next weekend. Price only includes $48 in taxes/fees. Do you think I'll be charged a daily resort fee when I arrive (Palms Place). I can't find that information anywhere on LMT.

Thanks!

Edit: Based on the Palms site, they say they charge a Resort fee, period.

JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa $84

We could only find Sunday 7/26 for this price - normal rate is $149 during summer.

Nice hotel - would be my choice for that night just to try it out.

You did not include the resort fee and taxes. Sunday night. Prepaid. This is not unusual for vegas.
