Ah well, ya win some, and lose some. No room for me this time. I'm going back to sleep.

Umm, yeah, that was my message. It is accurate.

Although we were aware of the traffic volume and made preparations ahead
of time to accommodate it, the volume of traffic nonetheless outstripped
our enhanced capacity. In lieu of the online process, we will be running
an alternative email based sale shortly, as most of the inventory is
still unsold.

You should be receiving an email from us shortly describing the
specifics, but the details you've provided in terms of your intentions
are exactly what we are going to be asking of our consumers. With this
in mind, I'll try to get your request into the queue.

With sincere apologies for your inconvenience,

All right, LHW: Put up a page listing the winners (no full names, of course) - but at least a semblance of proof that that number of rooms was really sold.

relax, the page saying all rooms had been sold is just something that was prepared long before it even started. I got through the /1928 once, and it was the same page as yesterday, no obvious way to log in (without password), and still possibility to pre-register. One click, a long waiting and the "try again later message". As someone wrote, it is highly unlikely anybody got a room due to the different screens involved. Actually, I wanted to book a room on their website yesterday evening and this morning, long before the game started, and could not pass the "list of prices" screen... and could hardly ever get to it most of the times.

New message on the page:
Due to the overwhelming number of consumers participating in this promotion. We regret to inform you due to technical difficulties beyond our control the 1928 promotion has been suspended indefintely.

The LHW site was acting weird yesterday - I tried to log into my Leaders Club account, and could not do so using the entry field on the home page. However, by going to the 'My Reservations' page, I was successful using the Leaders Club entry fields on that page.

That is caused by the cookie 1928Promotion set to "true". It simply means that someone using the same computer/browser/user ID registered. There is always the possibility that you registered with the wrong email address since they have not sent confirmation emails. If you clear the cookie or use another browser or computer it will not show you are registered.

Just to add another datapoint to this thread:

I was hitting the refresh button pretty consistently beginning about 5 minutes before the promo was scheduled to start. I consistently got the "try again" error message (that usually loaded pretty quickly). A family member in NJ was also trying and got nothing!

I understand the frustration but probably not the best thing to do - especially when you come onto a forum and tell people about it.
