I believe this is the place where they had a massive toxic chemical spill into a river a few weeks ago. Think long and hard before going there.

no, the spill was way up north, around Harbin I think.

Hangzhou is a rathr pleasant city, for China......

The spill is actually in JiLin, the city affected most is Harbin, a city quite a bit distance downstream.

Hangzhou is at least 1000 miles from them. It's very close to Shanghai.

Wow... didn't realize Super 8s were in China!

It should be noted that this rate requires pre-payment. Regular rate is about $32.00.

Glad I couldn't find this rate at the Super 8's in Beijing. I'm going there in a few months and don't really want to stay at the Super 8 -- but at $2 I might have forced myself to do so. :D

I can't tell from a map, but how close to Shanghai?

The Super8 Hotel in Peking is also available for booking.
Just check super8.com, it is called the Tianrui Super 8 Hotel.

Greetings, Elvin

This deal also works at Super 8 in Suzhou .

The Beijing doesn't seem to be bookable for any of the dates I tried. Have you seen any dates which work? I keep getting all the way to the booking and then I get the following message:
"There was a problem making your reservation. Please click your browser's back button and try again."

I will be in Shanghai in June and Hangzhou seem like an interesting place for a side trip. Booked a few days there. Thanks lemex!
