4* Hallmark Hotel Croyen Aerodrome (London) €8/night with bft.

Looks available at least on some weekend nights (Fridays and Saturday) in December 2016 and January 2017.

Luxury rooms with English breakfast included. Croydon is a London borough but not quite sure how you get to Central London from there.

€6 for 1 person, €16 for 2. Appears at least on booking.com and Priceline.

Enjoy!

Using public transport it's going to take around an hour to get into the centre of London, so this isn't really such a great deal.

Nice historic site as it's where the original London Airport was, but as a base for seeing London, it's far from ideal - even at EUR8 a night!

Yes noticed this, but at the price it was too good to pass up. I'm up for an hour on the metro in for a few days! Nice to know it was where the old airport was - that's cool at least. Seems like a pretty standard hotel otherwise. Free breakfast... basically buy breakfast, get the night free?

Actually - make that 1hr 20 mins, taking a bus then a train then an underground or two...

The airport does have a very rich history, but sadly the museum only opens on the first Sunday of each month... http://www.croydonairport.org.uk/Vis...entre/Whats-On

"Croyen" seems to be the type of place that makes you tear your hair out.

I managed to book this before it was fixed. Any idea how long I should wait with booking a flight?

Actually it's a not too bad a location as I have always stayed at Hilton opposite whenever I've driven down to London. There is a bus stop (route 197) right outside which goes to East Croydon station so you can arrive at London Victoria in around 15-30 minutes depending on which train you get. As you exit the train station, the bus station is in front of you.
